just a thought to save money dont speed =no fine =saving money !!!
Nice idea, but rather naive.
It has happened to both me and my father. He received a NIP for 48 in a 30 (was doing 24-26). I received one for 39 in a 30 (photos showed they'd caputred a telegraph pole instead, and I knew I was NOT speeding).
Of course you will say that if you know you're not speeding then you can take it all the way. But you have to await the issue of a summons and plead not guilty before you are even entitled to see the evidence against you.
How many people assume that the camera never lies and just pay up? Or don't have the courage to allow a summons to be issued against them, for fear of a much harsher penalty?0 -
Well i'm flatterd by the number of replies so thanks.:T
I just feel that the government get enough money out of us as it is and that speeding fines are an extra way of getting more money. They say that it is for safety, that is bullsh*t, it is for extra income. If you take a look at reports since speed camera's have been introduced accidents have actually increased.
Given some of these responses, you would think i had driven past a primary school at 74mph. Not the case at all.
So in response to my original question, before we got side tracked, i guess there is no way of avoiding these points!
Just trying to save a little bit of money, just like all of you who are on here.
Thanks
The seemingly holier than thou attitude from some on here is quite standard.
90% of people reading this at work have probably [my estimate] broken the speed limit at some point today, I know I have.
The most sickening thing is when the cars/vans are placed in the sneakiest of positions. I know I've thought I've been got a few times and I've been angry for days... in the end I've never had anything through but one thing is 100%; you slow right down for a while.
In your case, I have to say you were going way too fast; if you were clocked at 74 and you'd slowed down, you were doing at least 80. No excuses I'd feel.
You may think you're safe but so do the 3000 or so who die on the roads each year.
Remember you have a far higher chance of dying in a road accident than you do of winning the lottery, but which do we all spend more time thinking about...
Slow down !!!0 -
speed increased the time you need to stop and increases risk of not being able to stop in time in case of emergency- you broke the law, you know the speed limits get over yourself take the punishment due.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

My question was: Can i legally avoid speeding fine/points?
Yes, is the answer. If you want the abrigded version of how to do that well I'm afraid there simply isn't one. Pepipoo has a forum dedicated to this topic and you simpy won't find 2 instances the same or a guaranteed route to freedom - what you will find is plenty of information on how you can try to avoid the points/fine.
Speeding has always been a contentious issue. Figure out the best route for you to take. One point of general commonality to all speeding offences is: the closer you get to 'getting off' the more expensive it is and the greater the consequences are if you don't 'get off'. No pain, no gain.
As for comments made in response to your speeding then this will always touch a nerve with folks who abide by the law so you can't really blame them for sharing their opinion of your alleged illegal act on a public forum.CHEAP doesn't mean ETHICAL0 -

Bless , someones been watching too much Top Gear
yes i do watch it, probably while you and the rest of the holier than thou brigade that all suggest pay up now type statements were watching songs of praise.
74 in a 60 is hardly the end of the world, the road being a 60 zone would indicate the likelyhood of pedestrians being present to be low.
hang me while your hanging louise, i speed, i speed regularly, infact when im driving im rarely under the speed limit ( unless conditions require me to slow down) but on a clear road marked as a 60, i will be speeding.
camera vans on roads like this are nothing more than government revenue collectors.
why dont these vans sit outside schools rather than safe roads?...work permit granted!0
