cassettes to cds?

I don't see why it should be compared with a hi-fi deck as a Walkman can be used just as effectively as a hi-fi deck for this purpose (3.5mm headphone/lineout socket on Walkman - 3.5mm linein on PC)
Noise inside PC could also be a problem with it although it's less likely than using a sound card/wire combi.
But for £80 I could go out and buy most cassettes of mine on CD.Alex Jones0 -
It might be as effective but the quality wouldn't be as good.I don't see why it should be compared with a hi-fi deck as a Walkman can be used just as effectively as a hi-fi deck for this purpose
Of course you're right. It's far better to have an original CD. It's only really worth the time and effort of doing this if you can't get the content of the tapes elsewhere, eg for personal or rare recordings.0
