from what I have read on here from a similar post a few months back there isnt that much differenceDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0

For technical reasons you don't want a very long one, signal degradation and image problems might occur. Take the cover off the £1 lead and look at the cable quality of all the wires, are they screened, each wire has an outer shield. Compare the £30 lead with the Tesco ones before you finally install them, just hook them up and do a test for yourself. Can you use HDMI cables?

- Some cheaper SCART cables won't be "fully wired" (e.g. for RGB signals - important for best picture quality from digital sources like DVD players, game consoles and Freeview boxes)
- Cheaper SCART cables probably won't use as well-shielded or as thick conductors.
- The connectors may be flimsier.
That said, I'd be surprised if anyone noticed a tangible difference between a £4-5 cable and one significantly more expensive. Measurable using a 'scope, perhaps...0 -
A better scart will carry the signal better ~ meaning sharper and more colourful.:idea:0

hi ts thanks for your replys whats a hdmi cable? is this better/cheaper?0

ooh, Why has cheaper always come into it? HDMI only if you have it on the TV and DVD/PS3 etc.. Just as long, thinner cable, more secure (won't just fall out) and better picture quality as it's digital not analogue signals oh and about the same price £6 - £30
Er, where's my "thanks" kazz?0 -
You can't ASK for thanks!! that's almost rude.0

In my experince the only difference is about £28 !0

There is a difference in build quality normally on the lower end of the range £30 is a cheap cable! when your looking at the high end stuff. better shielding improved connectors and pins are the main differences you will notice in this price range.
If your using a £20 dvd player and a Technotronica or what ever TV from Asda/tesco then you will probably not notice the difference between a £1 cable and a £30 cable. increase the quality of the source and display then you will be able to see a difference between a cheapie and an expensive cable. Very expensive cables utilize silver wire prepared in oxygen free conditions just to get that finite improvement over a copper cable even copper cables can be oxygen free as well. It is all about squeezing that little extra from your source and display.
You wouldn't put £50 tires on a Ferrari or formula one car as each component adds that little extra and all the little bits add up when they are put together.0 -
Those that dont notice a difference are generally using cr*p equipment and the tvs set up wrong:idea:0
