Bathroom wall tiles

I am getting my small bathroom refurbished.

I will be getting a white suite and wanted advice on wall tile colour.

I am getting 5.5 sq meters of tiles for the wall and wondered what colour to get.

I was thinking of getting white tiles and wondered if white is too much for a small bathroom?

If your bathroom is small, avoid dark colours as it will make the room seem even smaller. Our tiles are all white from the floor upwards, then just the very top layer of tiles have a pastel pattern on them.

White tiles will look ok, have you thought of having a large mirror on the wall as it will bounce the light around the room, making it much brighter.
  • if you get coloured tiles you are limited to certain colour schemes that will blend - if you tile only up to roughly halfway (or level with the height of 2 or 3 rows above the sink unit but all over bath/shower wall) with white tiles at least you can alter the rest of the walls above with emulsion to suit whatever colour scheme you want at that time - and white tiles don't have to be boring, they do many that have different finishes & textures to them

Bear in mind that you don't want it to look like a public toilet so white or other light colour with something different on it (like the bumpy effect) is a good idea

ive just done mine in mosaic tiles but not the ones where it is individual mosaics these are 30cm X 40cm mosaic pattern beige tiles (available from whickes) they look really classy with all white suite and have enough colour in to make it look warm.

We did our shower room with geometric patterned white mat tiles from homebase a few months ago (they've still got them but I can't remember the name) and used the matching chrome geometric border half way up (splashback hight for the sink) all round the room. We did buy a huge sheet of mirror from a local glass merchant which they came and glued into place before the tiler finished so he could tile round it. Also used grey/black/white sheets of glass mosaics (homebase sanctuary) inside the shower and black slate effect laminate for the floor. It always looks clean and bright now compared to the floral tiles, green carpet and coloured suite we inherited.
