Yeah, I had a quote from IceEnergy. It took me about three days to stop laughing.

Airconwarehouse website is run by a company in Manchester - forget the name. They came to quote us and the quote was OK, but they took ages to come back to us and eventually they told us that they weren't going to fast-track their MCS registration and were going to concentrate on Solar Electric. This may have changed, and other than that they were OK to deal with.0

Will do, waiting to hear back from that Midlands company mentioned above. Phoned a couple in Scotland this afternoon but theyre insisting that I have a survey done first which is now booked for next week.0 -
A site survey is very important to measure heat loss from your property. I was amused though by some installers who did the calcs and then asked me what size heat pump I wanted..0

Hi mitchy, you could use an ASHP for 90 percent of the winter and then use the LPG boiler for the colder few weeks...Bivalent arrangement, a lot cheaper than two units, if you need any help just shout. There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

The guy from Ice said that if I do that I cant claim certain grants, not sure if that included the RHI.
Asking questions on here helps significantly as it really does away with all the sales bull, I just dont trust them.0 -
That's a load of old cobblers, mitchy. Bivalent systems are the preferred way of managing the required heat budget. Why would anybody want you to install more than you need for 90% of the year just so you had enough for the coldest weeks? It's just not efficient.0

An theres exactly why I dont trust them!! I thought a 14kw system would be sufficient but he assured me it wouldnt and that I would be as well scrapping my year old LPG boiler.0
