Hi all,We make and sell heat pumps,we don't heat our DHW water with an outside unit, we use a heat recovery unit, that way the outside heat pump can run at it best for heating and the heat recovery takes care of the DHW 365 rain shine or frost..

richard, I was refering to the esp ecocent unit in post above, have had a look at the unit on the net and it looks as if it pulls air from the loft or outside into the ASHP fitted on top of the cylinder, but reading the specs, it seems to struggle at low ambient temps, it only pulls .81 kW so not much bigger than a fridge compressor, can it really work??

    "[Quote
Air is drawn in to the top of the unit, heat energy is extracted (even cold air has energy) and transferred to the water.
Optional flexible ducts can lead to your roof space or any large indoor area, like a double garage, to maximize the use of latent heat sources.
Cooler, dehumidified air is expelled and can be used to cool areas such as kitchens, bakeries etc. (or pushed outside or back in to the roof space).]"

the site also says at ambient temp of 15 and outlet water at 55C with a COP of 2.5 and a hot water recovery rate of 50 L / hr.
it doesn't mention the heat recovery fan load

you'll find that a lot of us already know about these technologies, and discuss the merits, pro's and con's of all in an unbiassed and constructive way, if you only have something to sell, you should advertise elsewhere, as I'm sure you are aware this is a money saving forum, not a free ads board!
