As you have it now the max flow temp it will ever do is 45c no matter how cold it is outside. This way it can go to 50c if it gets seriously cold but the ramp will give it flow of around 45c at -2c.
With plenty of playing about you may find you can drop the bottom temp a bit more as well, even 1c makes a difference on these things.
lovgshp will get you sorted for sureA pair of 14kw Ecodans & 39 radiators in a big old farm house in the frozen north :cool:0 -
1) Disinfection cycle:
I do not know if you are on a multi-rate tariff, if so change the timing on that to the off peak time. Cancel DHW production from say 9.00 pm to 6.00 am, the tank is large enough to hold enough temperature, until a reheat is needed.
2) Weather Curve:
Scotland according to the manual you emailed is -5 setting. Try a -3 to see how it goes, I know you have reverted to -2, but what are the lowest outside temps you are getting?
As TiredGeek says you must watch the flow temps, as you could lower them far too much, where a really cold spike could cause a problem. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
As I said in the GSHP thread, with an MA my wife ain't thick. However she has neither the ability or inclination to ever get involved in the tweaking seemingly required for so many heat pump installations. On/off, timer, thermostat is as much as she would manage.
As said in both EST reports the controls must be made 'idiot proof'.0 -

To be honest, the controls are pretty straightforward. Most installations are in the warmer months of the year, so there is virtually no heating mode required, so the system is set to what the client says that they want. In many installs this works perfectly ok, but then you may also need to fine tune/tweak settings in the winter for other units.
Can send you a REGO 600 simulator if you want to play around with it.:eek:As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -

Legionella cycle is set to 1pm on Wednesday as she has solar power generation so we decided to use these times as this is when the sun will be strongest and she's on a single rate tarrif as well.
Hot water is on permanently, it kicks in when it wants to maintain 48c and as not much water is used it's usually once a day.
The -6c for scotland was 2014's manual it's now -5c doe Scotland and -2c for England? Dunno why this is? Houses are built the same on Scotland are they not... I can put to -3 or leave at -2c but what should the max flow rate be at that temp it's 45c at moment.

It's set to 32c when it's 15c at present and the reason for that is she has Myson Hydronic Kickspace heaters in the kitchen that only come on when the water flow is above 30c so ive set 32c to be on the safe side. I've also set the system off temp to be 16c so that it doesn't run at all if outdoor temp is above 16c.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
The reason for the difference on the temp is basically regional zones with air temps. Why that is done I do not know on your manufacturer, as it is not that normal.
DHW ok, if you are happy with that, operating times look perfect.
Is there a function that shows the heating flow at different outside temperatures on the controller? I looked for a simulator to try and find those, but did not come up with anything. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
DHW is lovely and hot enough we try & turn it to 40c but that's not really hot enough for washing up etc and some like hotter showers/baths.
Yes we can press a button that shows the current flow and outside temp it's quite spot on to the chart I posted but we've also put small digital thermometers on the flow and return to see what we get and they are spot on.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
Do not try and go lower on the DHW 40C is far too low.
To be quite honest, what you have already changed looks to have made quite a difference.
The reason I asked about flow temps, was because I can look at anything from 20c to -35c to see what the pump is going to try to reach. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
So what shall I set flow temp to and at what outside temp?If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0
