I don't mind Phil tbh, but the big K gets right on my t1ts.
Every Relocationx3 I've watched (don't ask, the OH loves them, I'm nosey enough to look at other peoples houses and watch the idiot "wannabe on tv" people you have on there) she has acted in a most unprofessional manner, she's a pretty loathsome person.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
To not like her as a person is fair enough...even though you don't know her.
But remember it's an entertainment show. She merely expresses her opinion.
In the good times she said what everyone else was thinking/doing. I think she has recently reigned in her over eager "investment" angle to reflect the times.
I re-emphasise...Kirsty and Phil can not be held responsible in any way shape or form for the house market...past or present.0 -
I disagree, she has quoted the "its a good investment" quite often in this new series. In the good times she said what everyone else was thinking/doing. I think she has recently reigned in her over eager "investment" angle to reflect the times.

As for your second opinion, I disagree again. She constantly said there would not be a house price crash and reassured countless viewers that house prices always went up.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

I never heard her say that. If she ever did say "there would not be a house price crash" and "prices always went up" then I have to admit that she has acted like a bit of an a55. I didn't hear her ever say that, but then again I haven't seen them all, and have a terrible memory!
I can't believe anyone would ever make such claims. What is the saying..."never say never"!0 -
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0

She famously said she would eat her hat if house prices went down. Then when they did, blamed it on HPC.co.uk/doommongers in general/stamp duty and anything else that she could, saying that it was caused by the banks and therefore wasn't a house price crash as such.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

Oh......
...well I can't really respond to that can I ?!
I stand by what I said about the 'blame' aspect, but if she said that (I can't access youtube at the min) then she deserves some criticism...no doubt!0 -
I wouldn't say you were wrong. essentially this piece of tv is 'entertainment' and if it was billed as such, people here wouldn' have a problem.I can not fathom out how people can place any blame on people like Phil and Kirsty for what's happening in the current housing market. Essentially all their programmes have done is help people find homes who asked for their help. Simple as.
If you start referring to this as 'property !!!!!!' that intices people into buying houses for more than they are worth then you are really making out the public to be more naive than I can imagine.
Next thing I know is you'll be blaming Top Gear for enticing people into buying new cars they can't afford, or clothes shops for making people feel as though they must buy all the latest fashion even though the cost will be going straight on their credit cards!
These programmes are entertainment, not financial advice for people!
Individuals have to be held accountable for their own actions, not blame everyone else all the time. Those people getting 100% mortgages should have said to themselves, "what if prices drop?" or "can I afford this if interest rates go up?" Why do people always have to push the blame on to someone else.
It's like blaming credit card companies for allowing you borrow that much money. YOU spent the money. Yes, they didn't help but its YOUR fault, not theirs. You can maybe put 1% of blame on to them but no more than that!
Apologies. Had to get that off my chest. Rant over. Am I wrong?
what annoyed many (including myself) was the near-factual format being fronted by 2 self-styled property 'experts' who repeatedly 'bigged up ' the market by assuring would-be buyers that 'you won't lose money' , 'house prices only go up'.etc.
would you buy a house on the strength of k and p's 'advice'?
I didn't think so and neither would I.
but when C4 commisioned LLL they must have realised that they were buying into a format that vaguely resembled a sales pitch.
and who can claim to be at all times impervious to advertising?
the influence it had over the market has probably been overstated but it grates with plenty that a public serice channel allowed the chase for ratings to degrade its founding values.
my guess is that there were more than a few mugs who took LLL at face value and bought out of panic or greed (but perhaps less than 1%).0
