i am veggie and do my main shop from tescos - a few a year i have need to cook meet for others - i dont buy raw meat from tescos as it looks better elsewhere!!
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"
  • But it doesnt actually say that its not the chops from the actual picture though . Think ill complain. oh no wait a minute, got more important things going on in my life! ! !
It appears to me that you don't care what conditions the animals are raised in. I do an honest job and I expect those who perform the role of supplying our food to be honest also. It is clear that they are not - largely because people like you don't care enough to take a few minutes to bring the matter to people's attention. I am not asking you to devote any time to this issue. I would be content for you to be aware and acknowledge the fraud; not deride the person who brought the serious issue to you attention.

Goodness knows what conditions they suffer while confined to the barns.

If you're that bothered about their wellbeing, why do you eat them?

  • Shredded wheat isn't 'knitted by nanas',/quote]

Where does my nana disappear to for 8 hours a day then?

She told us she was working in the shreddies factory....

I wondered why she always came home stinking of booze.....

The clue is in the phrase 'outdoor reared'. This means they were reared (that is brought to maturity or thereabouts) outside.

Don't they top them when they're 16 weeks old anyway.

A week or two with mum, then 14 weeks in a shed being made to sleep (pigs who spend all their time sleeping get fatter quicker) and then off for the chop.

We should all be veggies and end all this nonsense...

There's nothing in that phrase which says, implicitly or explicitly that they spent their entire lives outdoors. In fact, from what I know about pigs they like to go indoors, especially if it's cold or wet.

Sorry but I can't see any 'lie' here at all.

And, whilst I am at it, your poll is almost entirely meaningless. Very few, if any of the correspondents to this forum are going to have an objective, verifiable answer. So most, if not all of the responses are going to be based on prejudice and supposition.

Shredded wheat isn't 'knitted by nanas', either.
Are you employed by Tesco to defend their deceitful policies?
Descriptions on packages should be clear and honest. Aldi states on its egg boxes that they are produced by caged hens; while I do not agree with Aldi's policy of selling such a product I do applaud their honesty.
  • Find a good local butcher , ask where the meat comes from . The butcher I use has every cut labeled as to what breed its from and from where it came from , a lot of it is from their own farm

I agree with you. It is clear that we cannot trust large and impersonal organisations such as Tesco.
  • I can't run, swim or ride a bike. Should I take that packet of always back to the shop as the advert says I can do all of those things while wearing them.

This is a serious issue. If you want your humour to be appreciated try doing some stand-up. If Russell Brand can succeed with no talent I am sure you will be a big hit!
