I am claiming this back from about 6-7 years ago. Abbey have written to me asking to speed up the process and ring me for further details tomorrow. Typical Flexi-loan situ - I didn't ask for it or want it, but the box was auto selected on the webpage online. I had barely any info on this, thought it was compulsory; thus would never have took it out. I did complain over the phone 2 years ago and this was dismissed so I thought I had no right to claim back.
I see there have been successes re Cahoot Loans on here re; PPI.
I used the standard stage 1 letter and have had a fast response to it (Ty MSE, and will keep this thread posted re; progress. Fingers crossed! :money:

Hi Di, thank you for your advice, I am going to request that they send me the recordings, and see what they say. Apparently the recordings are between the Customer Account manager and my partner, regarding whether I had any previous medical conditions etc, however, the insurance was in my name only so surely they should have spoken to me about it! I will let you know how I get on once I have listened to them,
Many thanks

Hi Wutus
Hope your well, and how frustrating for you.
However, I would still write to the ones that sold you this in the first place and see what they come back with, if anything they should enclose address details of the other company on whom your trying to contact, if so you write to them ( a bit of a pain I know), but if they don't get back to you by 8 weeks you are still entitled to take them to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), so basically if they ignore your letters the FOS would take over this for you.
Or another way is, to ask the FOS to write to them on your behalf, its unlikely they will ignore them, give the FOS a call this coming week if you want to explain your situation and request they write on your behalf, or of course when you have the address details if the Woowich do not take responsibility then.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
