Does the it say how long the co operative have to pay up and was it signed by an adjudicator?

Only asking so I can try and give you an idea what happens next.

  • Hi. I followed Martin's advice and was offered £800 from Central Trust for wrongful selling of PPI. I accepted their offer but they have just credited £3000 into my bank. They have written to say it was an admin error and they would like it back. What do I do? In my opinion they must have had this amount on my records or this mistake would not have happened. I am loath to pay it back as they have robbed so many peopleof so much money. Can ayone help please?

    Afternoon everyone

OH's case with the FOS was decided in his favour (yay!) and we're now just waiting for a reply from the Co-operative to tell us when he's getting what he is owed.

I have one massive problem with this as we still do not know what they are offering and no-one will tell us.

What can I do to get them to tell us this and is there any way I can get them to speed to repayment to us up?

    Thanks in advance
I think what pinknico is asking is have you signed an agreement letter (ie have the co -op agreed with the FOS's findings ?

    Hi there

Not too sure in this case, but due to this being an error, I think they do have a right to request for this back, just as long as they refund you what they owe you.

You could see what others have to say on this matter as well, if you want to, good luck and well done on your success.;)

    Hi Lynn,

I understand your feelings but if this is a genuine mistake you CANNOT keep that money - people have been jailed for spending money incorrectly credited to their account !! Also, if you accepted £800 this is legally binding upon you - you can't go back and ask for more

Was the £800 for misselling or goodwill? Have they now paid the WHOLE amount back? Just trying to work it out:confused:. How did they arrive at £800 in the beginning?

How much was your PPI? Did you sign an acceptance form?

I would give the money back or things could get nasty but thats only my opinion.

what matters is if you signed an agreement 'in Full & Final Settlement' of your claim

This did come to mind as well Marshallka, I am wondering how this happened as well.
With being offered the £800 and the bigger amount went in, does make you wonder how this happened and why.
