hello am new to this ... basically my boyfriend is self employed & took out a credit card with ppi several years ago, he would now like to claim this ppi back, the credit card is with rbs with whom he has personal & business bank accounts, after going through the terms & conditions it would appear that he would not be able to claim if his business were to temporarily stop trading.
is this enough to claim on & how much info do you have to give on when you took it out/what info you were given why you decided to take it out etc..?
thanks mary
Look here for reasons for mis sell

If any/all apply then put a claim in with these reasons.
Self employed may be one.0 -
I have just heard back from Black horse and they have upheld 2 of my claims. This is what is written but not sure what will get paid off my loan and what I will receive.
Refunds of premiums paid including interest £5,230.14
Excess Balance and interest £2,833.74
Less previously accepted claim -£0.00
Less arrears on loan agreement -£17,912.27
Sub total £0.00
statutory interest at 8% calculated up until 08 March 2012 £1,777.82
less tax at 20% from 8% statutory interest -£355.56
Total £1,422.26
This is for one loan rolling into another. They took me to court so I know I am
In arrears but not for over£17,000.00 so I am confused. I am unsure what I will get, I know I will receive the statutory but does anyone else understand?
You need to contact them and ask for the loan balance when this was taken to court, the total ppi should come off this balance, don't forget this is for a rolled over loan,so the balance will be higher,as whatever the balance was on the settled loan, will have been carried over to the second loan as this loan paid the first one off.
Get in touch and ask them for full details of these accounts and how they have worked this out.
Ask them what redress amount will come to you.0 -
Hi My claim would be with Lloyds who I still back with do I have to change banks if I make a claim against them?0

This could just be an old booklet from before 2005 that has not been updated, they may have sent you this info seperately regarding the rule of 78.
Ring them and ask how they calculate settlements.
This would not be a reason for mis sell though.
Thanks amersall, I don't think so as it was with all the ppi bumpf. When I rang initially they told me that the ppi had been paid off and was showing 0 which is why they said it was a gliche in the system. The loan is still running so not sure whats happening. I'm sorry i actually said to the lady in the ppi complaints dept not miss sell but , i cant think of the phrase, too late at night, mis-representation. Does that make sense. Anyway will see what happens. Thanks againWith Our Thoughts. We make our world - Buddha

Does this sound like a plan to get started.
Look through any paper work to see if I have any still.
Then phone or write to them.0 -
Before I try to claim the mis-sold PPi from Barclaycard, should I cancel it. It's a card I haven't used much recently, but i've discovered the PPi is still on there.
Would it be better for my claim if I cancel it first?0 -
can anyone tell me why barclays have sent me a cheque for my overdraft ppi, instead of using the award to reduce my outstanding overdraft debt which is in a dmp? They reduced my loan with the loan ppi award, is the overdraft treated differently?
I also have credit card claims with them but it has been about 12 weeks now and i havent heard anything.0 -
Have just had an acknowledgement letter from Future Mortgages dated last Thursday so I'm well impressed the fact they only rec'd on Monday 13th and at least responded (this was the front loaded ppi). None too pleased not to have heard from Santander as yet, thought Future Mortgage would be the ones not to reply.......It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice!!0
