Hi,
Tearing my hair out with HBOS, I phoned today for an update regarding non payment of cheques which were due before Christmas and was told it had been escalated on 22/12/11 (after a phonecall by me)by manager. Anyway adviser told me today that although it states that they will pay up within up to 30 days, if it has to be escalated as my case has (due to their incompetence) it gives them another 28 days grace!!
Is this right, they seem to be making it up as they go along!
Anyone got an email address of who I can complain to, getting really fed up!
Thanks0 -

HBOS the big "fob off" bank and that is because they are owned by the Lloyds Group who seem not to have the available money to pay back their fraudulent PPI's.
HBOS are stalling for time so now is the time for you to threaten county court action against them if your refund is not received within 7 days.
They have already said they will pay you so you would win in the County Court plus you can charge your cost.
No bank in its right mind would defend it THEY WILL LOSE.
In saying that Lloyds are not in their right mind anyway

Yes Cappo, what we have to do is spank their little bottoms as if they were naughty children (when you could do that of course xx)
But as these morons are adult children, a "whoop" in the right direction cannot hurt0 -

The wife had a loan some 8 years ago with Barclays that included PPI. What I am intending to claim against them on is that she had 4 products with Barclays, all with separate PPI, she was never told she could take PPI out elsewhere or that it was optional consequently, she ending up having 4 individual expensive PPI products with them all running in parallel!!
We've already complained successfully to Barclaycard on the two credit cards, but am unsure as to what can be claimed on the loan? All I have that details the history of the loan is a full transaction print - I've been chasing Barclays for MONTHS and MONTHS for full info but neither them nor the ICO have come through, Barclays are being very obstructive.
I'm tired of trying to obtain full details and am just wondering whether I can run this lot by someone to see if I can work out what our full claim amount should be instead of playing Barclay's game.
On the statement, initial transactions were for 15000 (the loan) and 4098 (the PPI), she made payments of 322 for 19 months before settling early for roughly 16,000 so a total of 23k in payments, interest charges were roughly 160 a month.
Given the final settlement, I'm thinking the PPI might have been front loaded? Would that mean I can reclaim the full amount? What about the interest charged? Can I claim the ratio of interest charged against the PPI? So PPI / loan x interest charged? Finally, 8% on top for every year since?
Appreciate your help, tired of playing games with Barclays and am surprised that the ICO have been extremely unhelpful, would like to just get this sorted now.
I'm thinking mine might have been missed posting it early hours of the morning...? Can anyone help?0 -

It certainly looks like front loaded PPI and that is a good enough reason to complain about. If you know the account/loan number download the questionnaire here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
by scrolling down to Step 3
Fill it in and send it recorded delivery keeping a copy for your records. If upheld you should get back ALL PPI paid + 8% standard interest and if you push the fact that you have paid interest on the PPI over the 19 months you MAY get that back too, some do some don't. You will probably get a figure minus any rebate you got for early settlement.
Front loaded PPI is frowned upon by the FSO and is the easiest to get a positive redress on. Good luck and keep us posted on progressSuccesses
