Hello, Can anyone help me please
I had a 5 year loan which finished in 2006. It was with a company called Woodchester Finance. I suspect I was sold insurance with this loan but cannot contact them to find out. They are not at the offices they were at back in 2001 when i took out the loan. I have no bank statements going back to 2006 to see what the account number was. Has anybody any advice as to how I can move this forward. I would be very grateful.
Thank you
Hi Gary
I would do a search as Beamerguy suggests, if your unable to locate it and to make sure it's the correct one, contact the FOS who may hold these address details, contact the free phone number, I'm sure they will be able to check for you.

As soon as you know and as long as you have the account number, you complete the reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below, send to the address given, keep a copy for yourself as well for futher reference, good luck.

Hi,
I have received my terms and conditions from my credit card agreement. What is the next step in reclaiming the PPI?

Hi there Gill
I think maybe its because they may not have been regulated by the FSA at the time you taken this out, but there is another avenue you can try, but get this confirmed by the FOS first by contacting them on the free number below.
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
Explain the situation with them first, even though the FOS are not able to take on a complaint if the business were not then regulated at the time you taken out the policy with them, the FOS have suggested the underwriter/insurer of the policy instead, as they would have had some involvement, and they will possibly be able to take it on as these would have possibly been regulated as an underwriter anyway (if they fail to uphold the complaint themselves).
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

We took out a secured Barclayloan for 25000 pounds in April 2006 and I was talked into paying 9000 pounds for a PPI. After 5 years this would be refunded if no claims had been made. It was refunded back in April. The 9000 was added to the original loan and so we have paid and will continue to pay interest on this amount. Unfortunately I needed the repaid sum to pay off another creditor who was going to raise the interest rate on my credit card. Do I have any claim at all? They really had to work hard at selling me this insurance at the time.
The good thing is the £9000 will come off your balance (saving thousands over the remaining term in interest alone!!)and the monthly ppi amount will reduce the loan monthly repayment.
Send this
We/I believe we were mis sold the ppi on the above account number, and would like recordings,if any to the contrary of my/our reasons for mis sell set out below.
1)We/I were not told that the ppi was in effect another loan that was added to the original loan and was repayable over the loan term with interest.
2) We/I were told that the ppi was a 5 year policy, but not told the ppi would still be on the loan to term end with interest.
3) We/I were told that if we did not make a claim,or go into arrears on the ppi ,after 5 years we would recive the cashback of ppi but this would not include the interest made on these payments that we paid over the 5 years.
In line with the FOS recommendations it is requested that the overall situation be restored as if PPI had never been included. This will entail:
a) A refund of the monthly payments that have actually been paid towards the overall loan in excess of those that would have been needed, if the original loan had been sold without the PPI policy;
b) Restructuring of the loan going forward so that the amount owed, the monthly repayments, the term and the charges reflect those that would have applied, if the original loan had been sold without the PPI policy.
c) In addition, interest at the rate of 8% simple per annum to any excess payments made from the time each payment was made to the point that Firstplus pays them back to us. We/i believe we were not given enough information on this ppi to make an informed decision. Had we/i known the full cost of this ppi we would not have taken it.
Unless you can prove without doubt that this PPI policy was fair, reasonable and suitable for my/our circumstances we/I will require you to rearrange the loan as if PPI had never been included on the above loan.0 -

When you do as DI said, make it clear that you are doing this claim and not a third party.0 -

Can someone please pm me the email address of the CEO of Halifax please,

If the £9000 was repaid to you, that cancels out the £9000

Hi,
My confirmation letter came on the 29th October, with interest paid up and till the 25th November. If my cheque does arrive by then, the 25th, will I be entitled to more interest after that date? It is Lloyds.0
