Sorry Steve, missed this one.
Blimey what are they playing at?
Glad you mentioned of the ICO.
Hi Di i expected it, i did'nt think i'd get any joy if they were going to play ball i would have got the info, at least i did get my account numbers so i can put a fos questionaire in now and i was self employed when they "sold" it to me, i talked to a woman called jo in the dsar dept and told her i knew i had the ppi i told her who sold it to me and if i did'nt get confirmation i'd be speaking to the ico (not bad for a mushroom eh lorraine lol):beer:0 -

Thank you for your letter dated 13th September 2011.
I am disappointed that you have chosen not to uphold my complaint about my Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) policy.
I am particularly interested in your findings as to whether the policy was suitable for me. I am a self employed business owner, as such I would continue to pay myself regardless of how long I was off work. I believe I had no reason to be paying for this insurance due to already being protected.
I would like you to reconsider my complaint and provide me with, within 14 days, written concrete evidence of what you believe was a fair sale.
I will refer my complaint to the FOS after 14 days.
Love from Red peppers
How does this look?
Any edits and amendments will be appreciated.
Helen xx
It's worth a try what they won't expect you to do is to keep pushing, if you know you've been misold,go for it.:T:)0 -
Afternoon Lovely Forumites,
I have received PPI refunds from Egg, MBNA, Santander to name but a few. I remembered that I took out a Halifax loan back in 2004 (paid off) and looked through the paperwork to find that I had paid a staggering £2934.00 in PPI. I looked at the Halifax website and it said that you can ring them in the first instance, therefore I did. I spoke to a polite young man who asked me why I thought I was mis-sold the loan and like the others I told him I was in full employment and would receive full sick pay for 2 years should anything happen and full redundancy pay. I was sold the loan in branch by a bit a of a pushy Halifax rep who told me that I "really do need it". I was naive back then.
My question is this was only a phonecall today, no FOS questionnaire and the nice chap gave me a reference number and said that my complaint would be looked into. Does this sound right? It sounded all too easy. Have Halifax been 'good' to others on here or am I building my hopes up for an eternal wait and stalling tactics?
Any advice would be gladly received
As our Di says you can't beat a written complaint, i started my LTSB saga off on the phone, are going to put a proper written fos questionaire complaint now, good luck.0 -

Well done on your win, lovely to get back our money again isn't it. What really makes me angry is that as much as they pay you some interest, it really does not take into account the years since, having to take out other credit, re-mortgageing, bank charges etc., because they 'stole' out money in the past, we are all still out of pocket in the long run. I will never trust another bank again and would like to change banks, but don't know which one as all the same.....
I agree beverley i don't trust them either i will never ever buy anything off a bank again barclays phoned up about an accident, sickness policy did i blow them off lol.0 -
Steve (Cappo), did you get round to collecting your SAR honey? :j
yes lol it was a waste of time Di but all was not lost i got the two main credit card account numbers, i'm going to wear them down girl i'm not giving up now i've got this far, will put a "proper" questionaire in tommorow now then if they give me a written final response get stuffed i can at least fos it, thanks for asking mate:heart2:0 -
I have a brief question about credit card PPI - can anyone me please?
If Barclaycard were to decide to uphold a PPI misselling complaint on a credit card that is still active, do they just go back 6 years, or do they go back to the start of the PPI policy?
Thank you

I'd say KG it depends on how helpful the bank are, i've now had HSBC now uphold my credit cards but have said there only going back 6 years so i've rejected there offer and sarred them to (try) to get the info going back the full 12-14 years i've had the card, good luck.0
