    On loan for PPI of 14449.10 @ 9.06% at 121.05 pm after 40 payments (to 1/2/2009)you should receive back 4874.02 + 8% of 638.04 = 5512.06 total

Also your monthly payments go back to 497.55 for the original 59000 loan--but see last sentence

All this on the assumption of the original agreement % and monthly payments the same throughout

Obviously-this is not the case as rates have varied I suspect --but above are rough figures as I ain't getting involved with the varying rates in this case as there are many judging by your post on another thread. But--new mtHly would be (59000/73449)=80.32% of 657.48 = 528.08

Post your figures up when you get your letter

Thank you!! This is greatly appreciated and I will certainly post my figures when I get them. :)

    Hello
    Im looking for some advise:
I had a egg mortgage which started in 2000 - we settled the loan in 2006 so it was all paid back but we obviously paid some ppi payments during the 6 yrs. Can i claim for these payments cos it is rather a lot of money?
also I have a lloyds tsb loan which has ppi on and is still running is there anyone having any success reclaiming from Lloyds?

    thanks
i think this site is great and i already have claimed back £4600 in mis sold ppi!

is this another fob off and should we wait a little longer??

we are trying to reclaim mis-sold ppi on a barclaysloan.
first letter in jan09 they responded quickly by sending us a form to fill in for extra info.
sent that back. only to get letter back saying still looking into claim and they will get back to us no later than 6th feb. well this came no response so rang them. only to be told had a big back log and will sort us asap. next we get another letter saying still not able to give full response and they will get back to us by 6th march09. which has now gone.
well the 8weeks have past and were looking at what to do next when we get a letter this morning saying :
" we would like to update you on our investigation into your complaint.we are not yet in a position to provide you with a full response.
we aim to do so as soon as possible. as full response has taken a little longer than expected you do have the option to ask the financial ombudsman service to review your complaint, if you so wish.
i have enclosed their leaflet which explains how you can refer to them, although i very much hope to be able to resolve your complaint without the need for you to do this.
we are sorry for the delay and any inconvenience this has caused. if you would like to discuss this further, please call ...."

should we wait or send a second letter or go to fos????
    thanks

    Hi hun

Wow you have done well then, well done......:T  and lets keep them going.

I would of course write to all of them with your reasons of why you feel you were mis sold no matter how long ago you'd taken them out.

It seems you already know the procedures of doing this, but if you do need any help, let us know.;)
    And good luck.......:D

i just had success with lloyds tsb credit card ppi, through the FOS though and the loan ppi to do yet, now this have been solved, then it may make my case stronger now in regards to the loan ppi, the ones I've had on my own anyway without hubby being on them.;)

    You go for it hun.

    Hi hun

Hopefully it will be a good outcome - when you do receive the response, but yes you are now able to continue to take this to the FOS now and let them know on the form that you've had no full response although the 8 weeks have passed and enclose copies of the letters you have received so far.

You can download a form from the FOS site or ring them:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

I would also send a completed copy to Barclays to make them aware you've taken this to the FOS and enclose a form for their interest/records.
This way they can still make a decision - quicker as well, if they do let the FOS know especially if its resolved, obviously while your complaint is within the FOS inform them of anything you hear from Barclays, good luck.;)

Well, after sending out PPI claim on 13th February (thanks to all your kind advice), I received an interum reply on 26th Feb (dated 18th feb) acknowledging my complaint and reaffirming that Halifax are allowed 8 weeks to investigate. I am claiming due to not being asked about previous medical conditions and because the selling of the policy was aggressive, so I felt that I couldn't say no.

This morning I received another letter, dated 5th March, which states that the review manager has considered the information available to them:

'...in view of the fact that you are a valued customer, I have decided to pay you an amount which will put you back in the position you would have been in had you not taken out the insurance. This is done without admission of liability and in full and final settlement of your complaint about the PPI on your card.'

They are sending out details of the amount 'shortly'. Initially I was almost dancing (I've had sooo many problems with Halifax in the past that, any little victory is delicious :D) but now I'm wondering what this amount will be?

I have had this card since 2001, paid it off in 2002, then started using it again in 2003. The debt is all to do with house moves and I have moved a LOT in the last 6 years, mostly because of my health. I would really like the amount to shift a good bit off my current debt as, TBH, it has been the PPI which has pushed it up considerably. I'm now worried because I'm quite unwell at the moment and I really don't want to have to go to the financial ombudsman, but I will if they offer an amount under £1,500.

I'm a bit carp at figures and I didn't ask for, or calculate any amounts. Can anyone give me some pointers as to how to go about getting some sort of estimate? What information do I need and how do I calculate a ball-park figure which would be fair?

Thanks guys for all your help and support so far :T

As far as i'm aware putting you back in the position you should be in if you hadn't taken the PPI means a full refund and contractual interest, not statutory, as you will not be back in the correct position with the card provider being in an advantageous position.17% compound is a lot better than 8% simple.

    Good luck
