  • Hi IANC

Yes it i the only loan i now have with them.

Just a thought i used to have a credit card with them back in 2007 which was paid off with one of my loans... would there be PPI on that do you think. Only trouble i have is i have no idea what the number was!!!! But i do know the total balance that was made to pay it off with.

    Regards

    Hi

Just wanted to say that Lloyds are liars.

How can they be working through November 2010 claims, when my October 2010 claim has still not been sorted.

I chase them up through emailing customer care and CEO and get made to feel like I shouldn't be asking about my money!!!! :(

Sorry been a bad day and then you read that people only waiting 4months have had their claims sorted and I'm coming up to 10months.
    Very frustrating.

But well done to all who have got their money back.

    They aren't lying.

When they tell you the claims that they are working on eg November 2010, that is the claims that they are starting/working on.

If your claim dates back to October 2010, they will have begun the review process already.

Some cases are far more involved than others, and will take longer to sort out.

My claim will take bloody ages due to the sheer number of policies and the timeframe.

If yours takes longer, turn that into a positive and think that you must be getting a whopping payout if it is taking so long to calculate it.

Positive thoughts are required to avoid going mental during the claims process :rotfl:

Then it looks as though the loan will be repaid in full.

Having read it again, it says that they propose to reduce the balance of the loan to £3600 ish and then pay it off, so yes the balance will be nil if you accept :)

    Rip their arm off :rotfl:

As for the credit card, try your luck and just ring them and ask if your old credit card had PPI or not.

I did this with HSBC and they automatically started looking into it for me.

    Got a payout after 10 weeks :D

If they are telling people that they are working through November 2010 claims, when they have not even done October then how is that not lying????

They are telling their customers that the further on with the claims when they are clearly not!!! (Also what happened to sorting claims in date order)

It's very very frustrating when I've been working my !!! off to try and get a response for 9 months and people who have been waiting 4 months have theirs sorted.

Sorry for the rant, but not a happy Lloyds customer at the min.

Ok, firstly I am not the enemy :rotfl:

I have put my hard hat on now and preparing a response.

    The claims process has stages.

If they waited for everyone to be completed from start to finish, we would be waiting forever.

So, they request info and whilst waiting for other departments to supply it, they start the next complaint and so on.

The later complaint may be dead simple and therefore it gets completed first. Even whilst they are still waiting for the information to be supplied on the other.

There is a poor sod sifting through over a decade of slides on mine, so I know it will take months compared to someone with a simple 3 year loan that was paid off recently.

I could be wrong however, but a final respoinse must be received by 31 August in any event.

I'm really sorry, been bad week and it's only Tuesday.

I wouldnt be angry about it if they actually told me what stage it is upto I have had nothing from them. I email them and I'm made to feel like I shouldn't be.

I'm paying £55 a month for PPI I don't even need, my loan is still running and has been for the last 43 months and I've still got 17 months left. I no I can cancel but won't be worth it with what they take off.

And I really don't feel sorry for the poor sod, because their shouldn't of mis-sold you in the first place. But I hope you don't have to wait years.

every £55 you pay wiill be returned with 8% when they uphold it.

    Keep paying it :D

Fingers crossed the loan will end up being quashed when you get your settlement.

Oh and the person compiling the info will probably be some ill educated school leaver, not some private school boy toff like the one that probably sold/scammed you with the policy originally.

Halifax staff are allegedly doing 12 hour days and 6 day weeks to try and clear the backlogs.

    Hi,

I havent heard anything from the horrid Halifax regarding my PPI claims for 2 loans and possibly one TMP

Just wondering if anyone would be able to give me a rough idea of what amount to expect should I be successful, both 'front loaded' ie insurance and interest added to beginning of loan

    Loan 1
    Started nov-02 for 7 years
    Amount 8000.00
    Interest 2714.80
    Loan insurance 1722.50
    Interest on Ins 541.30

Settlement figure 6500 after 24 payments of 216.31
Paid off by loan 2 in Nov 04

    Loan 2
    started Nov-04 for 7 years
Amount 11642 (6500 paid off loan 1 borrowed addn 5000 and fee 142)
    Interest 2843.90
    Loan Insurance 2719.51
    Interest on Ins 664.31

    Monthly payments of 212.43

I have tried the calculations myself based on all your input on the forums and on the worked examples on the FOS website but the answer I get seems to good to be true.....

    Here's hoping

    Thanks for any input

hoping for some help here, after getting my refund from halifax :T, my partner piped up that he thinks he pays payment care on his santander mortgage (he got it when they were abbey), after delving deeper into all the paperwork it appears he pays £19.23 a month to santander paymentcare insurance which looks to be something to do with aviva, he has paid this since 1994. they sent a letter to say after increasing his payment in july 2009 they were refunding him the increase due to fsa guidelines, and gave him £54.30 back. when taking the policy my partner was and still is self employed and he also said to me when talking to him that he did not realise that he did not have to have this policy as they also gave him a pension policy attached to the mortgage, from reading up am i right in thinking that as he was self employed this policy should not have been sold to him, sorry if we are a bit slow between us, but as the policy is not called ppi and paymentcare insurance we were not sure if it was the same thing, i think it is, any help much appreciated.

    additional info,

aviva have said the paymentcare policy can be cancelled and that it is a ppi, also in the quotation the mortgage advisor did in 1994 it says

if you are self employed you can still apply, but pcare benefit will only be paid while you are in receipt of national insurance unemployment benefit.

can anyone tell me what national insurance unemployment benefit is please, many thanks in advance, :)
