Natwest/RBS are driving me insane.... short story....
Complaints made Nov 2010; Reply asking for more info; info sent Dec 2011; heard nothing wrote again in Mar; no reply; phoned x2 May and told my complaints were in backlog; phoned 3rd June = what complaints; complained to CEO and attached scanned copies of correspondence; received reply 7th June stating being passed onto PPI Manager and I would get a decision within 10 days; received an email yesterday from said Manager asking for details of complaint???????????

What a bunch of totally incompetent amateurs!!!!!!!! Maybe I should wrap all the paperwork around a brick and throw it through the window of the local branch or maybe the CEO's window. Or perhaps I should write to PM and ask him to sort it on behalf of the tax-paying shareholders?

    Hiya

I can't remember if there is one on here lol.
Amersall do you know if we have a ppi calculator on this site, or would you know where to get one online?
    Thanks hun.
The bank charges calculator is the closest I have found. Open "Can I charge interest on my bank charges" section here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges#step2

Hi there, what is it you want working out, loan or credit card?.
We have 2 posters on here who are second to none when doing calcs. I am sure Robbedof or Marshallka will be only too happy to help you if you post the figures.

    Hi Claire

The exact same letter dropped through my door this morning from Santander too, with regard to a Debenhams Card. They also enclosed a copy of my credit agreement that has crosses (made by the shop assistant) and I too just signed by the crosses!! I was working when I took out this card but only 15 hours per week as had a young family, so there next argument was that my husband would be entitled to the cover instead - but he was and still is self-employed so neither of us could ever have claimed. I would never have agreed this insurance.

I have written back asking that if they can 'honestly' say that the shop assistant clearly went through all the appropriate questions with me regarding the insurance - as they can't.

They have asked for proof re NI contributions for the year for both myself and my husband - otherwise case closed. I have written back a reply today stating case definately not closed.

    Hello,
Ihad the same last week (Monsoon store card ) I rang HMRC and they told me it would take a few weeks to get the information to me regarding contributions ( same circumstances , I was unemployed, my husband self employed ). Rang Santander the other day and told them I could not get the info to them by the required date which is 20th June. They went on to say the case would be closed but they would re-open it when they received the information.
Seems to be a few of us in the same position. I think they are hoping we will give up and go away.

  • Today I spoke to the claims company that are dealing with our First Plus account and they told me that First Plus have told them they are working on our claim at the moment - well I will believe this when I see it in writing.

The other one that I did through a claims company (I know I know I was naive before I found this site and am doing the rest myself) was Capital One, after receiving no information from the claims company (different one to who is dealing with FP account) I wrote to Cap One myself only to be told they had rejected it. I hadnt heard anything from the claims company as to what was happening next and so I rang them today to ask should I now contact the FOS myself but they told me that they have already submitted a claim to FOS so I hope this information is correct.

Also I e-mailed the CEO at Barclays yesterday, as Di recommended, but still have not had any response, am I being too impatient expecting a reply from him as yet - I suppose he could be on his holidays!!!

    Hi There,

I'm new to all this so need help with what to do next.

I used the template PPI Questionnaire and sent it off to GE Capital/Santander. I have today received a response from the complaint resolution team. My argument was that I was sold the store card in store and was told what to sign and where to fill in where the assistant crossed not being aware that the PPI was optional and not valid if unemployed which I was at the time.

The response basically says I signed the agreement and would have received the information about it afterwards. that the form clearly states only sign if you require protection and that I need to prove that I was unemployed at the time by providing NI contribution proof for that time.

I have rang HMRC and requested the info and will be with me in 7-10days . I'm stuck now with my response, yes i can prove i was unemployed but I know what these companies are like and want to make sure I get my response correct.

    Can anyone help?

    Claire

are you sure hmrc told you it would only take 7 to 10 tens to get that information as they have told me that it will take four weeks!! and i had to send a letter requesting the information as the woman couldnt take the request over the phone, im going through much the same thing with my burtons mens wear card who is owned by santander and they gave me four weeks to prove that i was un employed and a full time student when i took out the store card
