Hi and welcome
No it is not the same, there is a thread down below somewhere where many have asked this, so please do not get confused.
Glad you have asked though.;)
If you did want to make a reclaim, you can do this all free, and all help from this site is all free.
Check out more info here below, you will find a FOS questionnaire to complete for the first stage, below the page as stage one:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Complete and send to who sold you the policy, keep a copy as well, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
And if you require further help from here, just give us a yell - all free,.:)

I have been ignored so 1 more letter to them
"I sent a letter to you on the 9th June to request that you re-investigate my complaint.
As of yet I still have no reply from you, not even to acknowledge that you had received my letter. As I sent it by recorded delivery I find this very strange.
I have included a copy of my previous letter for your attention.
I am writing again to inform you that I do not feel that your letter gave me a good enough justification that the policies that I was sold in conjunction with my loans were sold to me fairly. I have already told you that I was not informed at the point of sale of these loans that the insurance policy was infact optional. To add to this my employer at the time offered a sickness policy of 3 months full pay, 3 months half pay before statutory sick pay takes effect. Therefore in the event of sickness I would have been covered to continue payments, meaning I did not require the policies.
To add to this, the salesperson went on to tick all boxes on the agreement without actually asking me questions, when anything was asked it was rhetorical and answered by herself, leaving her to request only a signature from me.
I wasn't impressed with the length of time it took to come to the decision in the first place. Firstly I receive letter after letter asking for more time, then when the 12 weeks had passed I make a phone call to be told my case has just been opened. A decision within a week tells me that my complaint wasn't investigated properly. The FOS take a strict view on companies not investigating complaints properly which I'm sure you are aware of. Therefore I am once again requesting you re-investigate my complaint, this time with a more favourable response.
If I do not receive a more favourable response within 7 days I will be sending the complaint forms (that are already filled in) to the Financial Ombudsman to investigate"
Does that seem strict enough?0 -

Yes yes and yes :T, absolutely fab letter.
They do need telling what for - so good for you.
Sorry to hear they have not got back to you though, maybe this letter will kick them into touch.
Fingers crossed, please let us know either way what happens, thank you.;)

Hello everyone,
First if I am in the wrong forum then sincere apologies:(
Okay so I want to make a claim and try and get back some money from my missold PPI. I have gone through the article, watched the video and downloaded the templates etc.
Unfortunately I am a little confused as to how much I could possibly claim as the figures stated in my agreement are a little confusing to me hence why I am in this mess I suppose.
Okay so let me list these figures for you all - any help you can give would be greatly appreciated !!
Original amount borrowed = £10,000
Amount of credit for Protected Payments Plan = £1,687.50
Total amount of credit £11,687.50
Monthly repayment £146.24 (this has now increased to £160.22 since its been running since September 2007
Duration of agreement = 180 months (yes I know, 15 years...I don't know what I was thinking)
APR Variable 13.6%
Now here is the rest of the information:-
Cash price of Protected Payments Plan = £1,687.50
Total charge for credit consisting of :-
Interest = £13,385.70
Broker Fee = £1,000
Application Assessment and Completion Costs £250.00
Total = £14,635.70
Annual rate of interest (variable) 10.90%
So, as you can see I have been extremely foolish and I'll be paying for a long time which is my problem but I would like to if possible claim some of this back as it definately wasn't sold fairly (again my problem for not seeking advice prior to taking the loan). I just cant for some reason work out what I could possibly claim back with if successul with the above figures....can anyone help me.....please???
Yours thankfully

Hi Steve and welcome
You are in the correct place, so not to worry.;)
I am not the one for calculations, but some on here will be happy to look through them for you at some point later or tomorrow, I will keep a check, if you've no response in regards of the calcs, I shall chase up on this for you.
However, I know its good to know what to expect back, but I don't think you actually require these to make a reclaim, and they should supply you with a detailed breakdown anyway if you request for them.
What you do in order to make a reclaim is:
Complete the FOS questionnaire (these are in replacement of the first template letter and issued by the financial ombudsman service).
Complete and send a copy to whoever sold and set up the policy.
Keep a copy as well in case you need to refer to this later on, this is also recommended by the FOS.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond with a decision - some will request for extra time.
And I would also post by recorded delivery - this is your proof of posting.
The FOS questionnaire you will find on link added below - further down the page as stage one.

Hope this helps, if you require help at any time, please just yell.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
