    di3004,

Thanks so much for your advice. I really appreciate it. I wasn't sure if I'd sent the questionnaire to the right address - since Northern Rock went bust/changed hands, they appear to have changed their addresses. I sent the questionnaire by recorded delivery to an address I found online, and after tracking the letter can see that it delivered and was signed for by "Northern Rock". If O had sent it to the wrong department, do you think they have a duty to pass it on to the correct place? Should I allow them some extra time for this reason? Or just push forward with letter to fos straight away?

    Thanks again!

    thanks for the help amersall

the rejection of them 3 loans was all part of the same letter, so i presume if i go to the fos with
them i would have to reject the offer for the other 2 loans, rite? Can go to the fos with the rejected ones and accept the others

you can still go to fos with the rejects and still accept an offer on the others

the 4th loan was paid off with the 5th loan, so i paid that in full. The 5th loan i defaulted on, but
they must still have got all their money back for it since they added a couple of grand interest on
top of it when i defaulted, then they sold it on.

I don't know what the monthly ppi payment were but i will post the figures on my loan agreements.

    Loan 4: Start date: 5/6/2004 ended 29/3/05

    loan ammount £5000
    insurance premium £1045.22
    total interest charge £1542.72
    ttal amount payable £7587.94

on this loan you only paid 9 months ppi so times that by how much the ppi monthly payment was, you get that plus interest, less any rebate they gave you for this

loan 5: Start date: 29/3/05 ended july 2005

    loan ammount £5450
    insurance premium £1378.72
    total interest charge £2272.61
    ttal amount payable 9101.33
    see above
you only paid 4 months ppi on this loan so you will get this back plus interest less any rebate they gave you
the figures they have given you seem right to me , ask for an actual breakdown of the settlement figures for these 2 and you will get a better idea
as i said before you only get ppi back you have paid, yes they take interest when you settle but that is how it works, the loan you paid 4 months ppi on will have had a rebate of ppi and interest, as it was only going a short time that is why you paid more back

amersall none of the loans are still running, they were all paid off by the new loan that was taken out after it, except the last one which I defaulted on. Do you think I could accept the offer for the 2 they have offered, the go to the FOS about the other 3 loans, or would accepting it mean I have agreed to it for all of them and that is that? Also where have they got the amounts for what they have offered?

    Cheers
Hi, read my post 11845, hope you understand what i mean, ask the co op for a full breakdown of how they got to those figures, then you will have a better idea of what i mean x

Hi there, yes it is right, they would have given you a rebate when you cleared the loan, so in effect that is what they have given you already, take the original loan ppi minus by the rebate amount and the amount they are paying you and you will see what i mean, hope this helps

    Hi RedFox

It looks to me that they had already rebated the amount of £445.49, and the remainder of that left with added interest is that of £276.77.
    Well done to you.

I'm sure someone will clarify on this one for you.;)

Just to clerify, do you mean because I repaid the loan in full before the full term this what they've calculated and thus deem what I'm entitled to back?

    Thanks :j

    Hi there

    Your very welcome.;)

And yes they will or should pass it on to the relevent dept for you, however, you could ring them to make sure on this first, they should be able to confirm, but otherwise yes take them to the FOS anyway.:)
