  • Hi all.....forgive me but when it comes to money...I'm rubbish.

A few years back i took a personal loan with Egg. In fact i increased the existing one.
Between then and now after getting into financial difficulty i took some VERY BAD advice from a IVA company and defaulted on the loan...and the credit card.
I never went thru with the IVA. They're horrible, but i now have this default on my record. I've now paid the credit card off and all my other debts but still have about 8500 pounds owing on the loan.
The other day i got a letter from Egg stating what i owed and also the amount the PPI was worth ...... 4500 pounds. Ruddy Nora!!

Can anyone tell me if i can still claim this back? I entered into a repayment scheme shortly after defaulting and have never missed a payment but...they did freeze the interest...does this make a difference?

Any advice would be appreciated. Its probably on here somewhere but i don't have the 4 sniffer dogs and 3 years to find it :-)

    regards,

    Shane

    Hi Shane and Welcome.

Do not worry your not the only one and your facing things now, so good for you.

Yes on the grounds you have for being mis sold (whatever reasons you do have) then give it a go, if you taken out 2 loan with ppi with them, and was mis sold for the same reasons then go for them both on the same letter, remember to write both account numbers that apply.

It makes no difference if your on a payment scheme or not, the only thing you may find is if successful, they may refund on anything you still owe and anything remaining should be refunded directly to you, but please do not quote on me, as every finance company differ from one to the other.

They have 8 weeks in full to respond, keep at them, below is a useful guidelines of reclaiming link, with templates, mis selling checklist and so on, use that to help you through this, and is you can post your letters so that you get proof of posting within the post office.

Hope this helps, please keep us posted and ask for help anytime.;)

    good luck

    Hi all,
Just a quick update on claiming against RBS for loan PPI. Sent letter downloaded from the site (cheers Martin and all) in January and received an acknowledgement within a week to say they would investigate, speak with staff who would have dealt with it and update me.

Had a letter last week (after 4 weeks) to say that they were still investigating and would require further time to complete their investigations so that's were I'm at to now.

Hopefully will hear by end on March. :)
