thanks for your reply, the offer of £883 was only their first offer, but I was just worried if I rejected their offer could they withdraw it, I don't mind waiting for the money, however tempting it is to accept it. Do you know if the offer is lower because I finished the loan of early as a penalty.:)

    Hi Lunty.:)

With a goodwill offer sometimes they can still offer to put you back in the position as if you did not take out ppi from the start.
But others are just without accepting liability where they will offer it as a goodwill if you know what I mean.

Do you have any calculations to put on here, even though I am not good at calculations (working them out) I'm sure someone will be able to take a look for you, but if you have the breakdown of this, please feel free to write them in to have them checked over.

Then this should show what is what such as when the loan was repaid, including interest etc.
If you do not have these and do not have a cetain timescale to accept or not, then ask if they are able to supply you with a full detailed written breakdown, (just in case anything is amiss).;)

Hi, yeh the letter they have sent me states
    Aggreement. £1632176
    PPI Premium. £2069.05
    Interest on PPI. £151.86
    8% simple interest
    on the payments made. £103.97
    Total of above 3. £2324.88
    Less any early settlement
    already made. £1441.55
    Total amount of redress £883.33

Does this make any sense to you, I don't get why they have deducted the early settlement figure. Do you think it means that is the amount I would have had to pay if I would have continued with my loan, or is it where some companies penalise you for finishing your loan off early.
    thanks:)

Going by this it does look correct but this needs clarifying and checking by someone who is used to working with calculations on here.
Normally to what I remember there is an early settlement charge as well which they do also take into account.
So by reducing the amount of £1441.55 they state they already made when they broke this down, the calcs do look correct.

Hopefully someone will be along soon to make sure on this for you.;)

Not really sure if I am in the right place here, but wanted to say thank you to Martin and Co for the excellent section on PPI claims on the site here.

I have used it to so far claim back just over £300 (from an old car finance policy) which I am thrilled with, of course I was rejected on the initial letter, but the second template came back with a goodwill offer ( and as it was not that far off what I was owed I accepted!)

Good luck everyone claiming, I am now off to start my 2nd claim for another PPI policy I took out on another car finance.

thanks for the advice, it's very tempting to accept but I think I will take your advice, If I refuse to accept their offer can they withdraw it now, or because they say I have a case do they still have to make an offer. Thanks again
hi there, if they refuse to give you all back what is rightfully yours or withdraw the offer, then go to fos just dont settle for less than what you are owed.

hi there, now i understand! that sounds right to me, they took the early settlement figure off the amount you have been awarded as when you settled your loan they took that amount off the balance you owed them so you paid them less back, hope you understand?
