I read my Hotmail emails though OE but i cant see a way to get them into my eBay folder.
For the condition of the rule i guess i select "Where the from line contains people" and then add the ebay email to my address book but then it says select an action but there is no move action

Please ignore my post, I read the bottom of Soolins post about usenet groups and then jumped straight to the bottom of your asking about Outlook Express.
Apologies for the confusion.0 -
I've seen loads of those MP3 dvd disks on ebay. They usually say they are a back up copy only and they seem to get away with it. I bought one recently of The Cure and I was a genuine back up copy as I have already bought the record, tape and cd of every album. I just bought it so I could easily transfer songs to my mp3 player.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Im sorry, but good on Ebay too.
Forget the sob stories, every1 has problems. He knew the rules, has violated on more than 1 occasion, and people on here are willing to help?
Most people complain that such stuff is on ebay, and then we have people now trying to help them get reinstated??
Good riddance is what I say.Be nice0 -

That's correct. You cannot be prosecuted for backing up your own discs, but you cannot sell, buy or trade those copies regardless of whether you own the originals or not.

westy wrote:Hi sorry about the lack of response but it was late. I can not log into my ebay account so it defintely isn't a scam. I know I deserved the suspension and if they reinstate me it I wouldn't do it again, I worked hard to keep my feedback at 100%
I was made redundant recently so cash is on short supply, everyones got a story though eh, the dvd I sold did inform the buyer did it was a dvd-r in the listing and they had to own the original. I know backup is not illegal if you already own the original but I guess sale of backup is something else.
I didnt really look into it propely first. There was around 20 of the same music dvd compilations I was selling on the completed sales list. Many from people with over 250 positive feedback so I thought it was safe. Anyway thanks for the advice I will be faxing off the relevant data today.
if you fax off the stuff they want someone will email you in a couple of days perhaps asking for further info. they should reinstate you ok - takes about a week or ten days.
i got suspended for selling an xbox 360 which i owned and had the receipt for - apparently you have to be a licensed reseller to sell new xbox / ps2 type stuff. they asked me to fax off a copy of the purchase receipt and i was reinstated.
chances are someone has reported you - maybe one of your competitors? jst make sure you are squeeky clean from here on in.0 -
Well fortunately 'smashed' you are not my judge and jury. It wasn't some big operation it was one listing with 5 lots available, I was up front and said they were backups on dvd-r. I actually wasnt aware my listing was a banable offence but I should have researched ebays policy first.smashed wrote:Im sorry, but good on Ebay too.

Thanks pgilc for the info. I faxed my passport and bank statement off today together with their form. So I don't need to email them untill they contact me again right?
I read a blog yesterday about this bloke who had to email and fax his details 23 times becuase they kept emailing their automated response saying they had not received anything.0 -
The exact same thing happened to me with 1 minute left to selling xbox 360.
3days after sending proof details via fax I was re-instated.
I never did get an explanation though, which is really frustrating.
I REALLY REALLY HATE EBAY AND PAYPAL!!!!!!!westy wrote:I have been suspended from ebay without warning I've got 100% 90+ feedback, previous 18 months good account standing etc.
I got this in my message box "You have been indefinitely suspended from eBay because our records indicate your account was involved in activities that violate our policy." ...."We regret to inform you that we have suspended your account for breaching eBay's Unauthorised Copies (Copyright) Policy." (I was selling an MP3 compilation on DVD).
I know their Request for Reinstatement process says they will consider reinstating the account if you supply proof of address and name to
VeRO Department Reinstatements
eBay International AG
P.O. Box 9473
Dublin 15
Ireland.
But I'd like to find out if a VeRO suspension and a resultant "indefinately suspended account" can or has been reinstated after going through the proof of details fax process. Or is it a waste of time? What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0
