morning snowman and snowladies!!!
my common sense has prevailed and I am not going out with my 'friend' - she still wanted to attempt it even though she lives 2 miles up a private road which was sheer ice yesterday!!! How mad can you get!!! So I can carry on with bedroom for now - may have to venture to mr A but thats easy from here.
beccatje hope you and LO are feeling better after a rest today.
juliejim thinking of you and hope OH stops being silly soon!
nicki cant help with th uni problem but loads of good advice - does the OU not have a welfare/support dept you could speak to as well? as a student you would not pay council tax/ free banking I think/and travel so there is help if you can pull it all together.
Miss A and master W - A SNOW DAY!!!:j :j :j WOW HOW LUCKY YOU ARE!!!!:T :T :T :T have loads of fun and tell Mum to relax and enjoy it with you!
greenbee hope you can get all your work done at home and still feel relaxed.
valli I think exOH is very silly buying DS a new mobile phone but hey its not coming out of your pocket - get him to pay for the top-ups or even half of them - he will regret it if DS loses it again and has to stump up for another - or could you not speak to him and say that you think its a bad idea and wont make DS learn? Hope you are feeling better- at least you have a few days to get rid of the cold.
be careful if you have to venture out today!
have been out and fed the birdies
off to make porridge
toots xxPeace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
Live each day as if its your last

Morning all - unexpected day off - snow of course - had to make an early start as I was delegated to text parents of closure - simple only one text via a web service - and did the County Site too so the media could pick up on closure - but now am making the most of my time off and catching up on loads of chores - should have a sparkly house later today! If the kids don't mess it all up again!! Wet puddles everywhere in the kitchen as DD and DS have already been out playing - now I just have a lounge full of girlies playing on the Wii!
Right must get on before stopping at 11 for a coffee!!
KindlesSealed Pot 617 - target £150 only managed £27 in 2009!0 -
dropped the kids at nursery - we did walk this time and it obviously took quite a bit longer. but i had to take of lots of layers there because there were dressed up for the snow
had some rude drivers so along the road who wouldn't slow down and covered us in mud
it's started to rain here now so all the snow is turning
well, oh is home safely (he rang me 30min after he was due home to say the roads are blocked with stuck cars) - and took him 3 hours in total to get home  (normally just under one hour!) - so he is sleeping nicely now
so i've got a quiet house for the next few hours - but can't do masterbedroom obviously.
hmmm, maybe i can paint the playroom?!?!?!?!?!?!
oh re our viewings: the one actually put an offer in but 30k (!!!!!) under the asking price and we've dropped already by 50k over the last year and are at our minimum minimum so we politly declined!
apparently there is another viewing in the making :TGet a window cleaner!Or sit on the window sill and lean out...
unfortunately our windows open from the bottom!!! so unless you show me how to be snakewoman i don't see how it can be done
i guess i have to fork out for a cleaner :cool:0 -
Morning all,
Have had a very quick catch up as didint manage on at all yesterday (didnt fly either;) )
Any way home today have a poorly DD1 who is currently wrapped up on the sofa reading.
Nicki - Try direct with the Unis, I am currently working part time as a TA and also doing courses with the OU to top up other qualifications to also then go and do the one year teaching degree. So far I have been able to pay for most of my OU courses with tesco vouchers, but that is the situation i am in I think with OH working I wouldnt get much in the way of grants if I went to uni for the 4 year course this way I can do it quicker using previous qualifications.
gnb - glad all went well yesterday and hope the 17th comes round quickly and painlessly for your LO
dusty - ((((hugs)))) I have been in class when a boy made a rascist comment about the teacher, just they way he said it and how it was said it was obvious that he didint really understand the word and hadnt meant it to cause offence. Fortunately the teacher was experienced and took the child aside dealt with him by quietly talking to him he did receive a punishment exercise which his parents had to sign but this boy has been as good as gold ever since.

Well I have done amazingly well this morning in view of the fact that I still have the migraine I got up with yesterday morning, went to bed with last night and got up again with this morning as well:rolleyes: And it's not even 10.30am.
I'm just really chuffed that I've managed to keep on top of it all this week. But that's only cos I haven't been to work since Monday;) Still once it's all up to date it's easy to just whizz round quickly:D
Had a very entertaining morning watching the cars failing to get up our hill. Trouble is some are not going fast enough and are getting stuck on a slippy bit near the top and skidding out.
I am now just going to have a gentle potter for the rest of the day I think and try and get rid of this flippin headache.

DD doesn't seem to be in any hurry to go out and play in the snow, which I find a bit odd for a 6yo!
OH didn't go into work this morning but had phone calls to say most people were there, so has gone now.
(((((hugs))))) for all those who need them, like AnW'sMum I don't want to send individual ones for fear of leaving someone out.
Will have a cuppa now and see if it gives me a bit of oomph.....0
