have dusted polished & vacuumed the hall stairs & landing.completely forgot that the lounge was on the list until I had put everything away so will have to fit it in another day - probably tomorrow -as I couldnt be bothered to start again tonight.
12 inches of snow is forcast up here tonight so will have to see if the trains are running to get me to work tomorrow & the 20 minute walk to the station will help keep me fit.

DS3 school is closed again tomorrow.

Given up the will to fly, tomorrow is another day

    ETA secondary also closed

DS works at a school and is hoping it'll be closed tomorrow - they were talking about it in the staff room this afternoon. He wants a snow day!

Tooch - I listen to a local BBC radio channel - they have been giving out school closures all day. Tonight, they are bunching them up alphabetically and giving them out in short bursts! I think it might be easier and quicker for them to say which ones are open.

    Soak in the bath done
    DW emptied and refilled
    BM on
Chicken breasts defrosting in the microwave.

    I am flagging fast...

ETA - listening to Radio Solent at the moment - the presenter has just said that there are at least 250 schools which will be close tomorrow.

How do some of you know already that the schools are closed?

Am already planning another little lie in :D

Am going to do some cross stitch after I've made a hot Winter Fruits drink!

The local bbc radio website has a list of schools that are shut today for every county I think, some of them say Tuesday too. Hasn't been updated here since 13.37 though so not much use really. The boys school and my SS's college wasn't on it this morning. before it was time to leave. I am guessing no snow for years and a new head master meant they didn't have an adequate plan in place.

Anyway, I am going to S&S the Bathroom and get in the bath with the last few chapters of my Margery Allingham.

    Evening all :)

carlsberggal what wonderful photos, you must be every so proud of your children!
carol22 an extremely hot boil wash with soda crystals or vinegar should help, clean the drawer too and seals, if you can get a cloth in, wipe it!
soappie well done!!! Olive oil and cotton gloves works a treat on dry paws x
vivw strip everything cleanable off and if possible take the motor out and make sure there is no dust in it. If it's a Dyson and damaged they do an all in repair service for £65 I think it is
gtx ((hugs)) for you and yours, I can imagine that journey wasn't nice, I was at a meeting with some who had to go back to Northumberland from Durham today.
hex 'George Don't Do That' is soooo cute! My dogs just rubbed himself on a clean sheet but now I know why, he had a slug attatched to him, urgh!
pigpen unless in cases where children would be put at risk by travelling (ie those who travel in wheelchairs by taxi etc) I agree, at DS2s last school the head would walk in and told staff he expected them to do the same if necessary. He also usually employs local staff or those willing to move closer.

Well today went ok, apart from 2 people crashing on the way there, thankfully they weren't hurt. DS1s taxi couldn't come for him but still need to have it out with them about new times. Been out to play with them in the snow so currently defrosting. It's 'kerb height' here, however deep that might be. Council staff came and threw 3 shovels of gritter salt onto the street today... DP asleep on the sofa.

I've not done any studying today but will do some this evening as planned, tomorrow I have a 'day off' I don't need to go shopping even so more studying then. I am hoping some snow clears so DS1 can go to school but think it's unlikely as there is more forecast tonight.

I've also done no flying, well apart from 1 washer load and DW empty/reload. Dogs been walked but kept eating snow again so ended up being sick, yak! Tomorrows first mission will be to try to find my bin which has vanished, if no sign phone council for a replacement. Oh I've had arguements with HP and Westcoast Ltd again about the laptop, Westcoast were going to send a replacement tomorrow but now say they need a specific code off HP first, they can't seem to get it and they won't give me it! Something which they have been told isn't my concern (to do with them getting refund from HP) and that I expect a call tomorrow to let me know what's going to be done as I have had enough!

Oh and I like the term STICKS even if it is incorrect :p Oh and grrrr appears DS2s lost his glasses while we were out in the snow!
One day I might be more organised...........

pigpen no worries about the list I was too slow in thinking about it - wednesday would be good because the kitchen will be easy and I could get some of the bedroom done ahead if I feel like it! That sounds like a good plan for the cleaner - and as you said you will be in a better financial position! hope the cooker 'grows' on you!

The problem is that many school staff no longer live close to the schools they teach in and have to travel down treacherous, dangerous untreated side roads in order to get to and from school. I live on a main road and can go via main roads all the way to school so can always get there but some of our staff do not, why should they put their lives at risk to do what is really a non-essential job? Not like a nurse or a police man for example.

When the police are saying don't travel unless your journey is essential I guess I don't think baby sitting half my class because the rest of the parents have stayed home and had a 'snow day' with their kids is really essential.

    Just my POV
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

Rach - Thankyou! Which compartment thingy do I put the stuff in? Or just any?

Pigpen - I used to live 45 minutes drive (good traffic) from school, so if it started snowing Dad would ring school and say we're not coming because there are so many muppets on the road it would take longer to get there and back than we would spend there :D My brother didn't get a snow day today, he was gutted!

Ok so here's what I've got left to do tonight/ tomorrow:
Monday - Living room, hall and stairs!
    Level Two
    Wash windows
    Extras
    1. 29 fling boogie!
    2. Fill a binbag of swag for charity shop
    3. Wipe all the paintwork in the living room!
Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining room
    Level One
    Clear and wipe work surfaces
    Empty and wash out bins
    Level Two
Clear out the fridge and make note of what needs using sharpish
    Sweep and mop floors
    Level Three
    Wash windows
    HHI
Wipe and replace all the small appliances
    Extras
    1. Wipe all the cupboard fronts, kickboards and large appliance
    2. S&S the oven and hob
    3. S&S the window sills
    4. Binbag dance!
Hugs to all who need them xxx
