A few years back I read a Sue Grafton book K is for Killer. One of the Kinsey Millhone alphabet series. Then I came across P is for Peril, in the hotel whilst on holiday in Cyprus about 4 years ago. Spent the entire week buried in the book and never got to the end cos the last 10 pages or so were missing:rolleyes::rotfl:

So, I decided I'd get the whole set and start reading them from the beginning. I have every book from A to T(which is the latest one) except for L is for Lawless. Finding this one second hand is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It's only the MSE in me that stops me from buying it new:o

Trouble is I've started reading the series now, quicker than I expected, cos they're that good and I'm on G already. So I'm getting a bit desperate for L now.

    Hi,

I have to say have a look at at the Flylady website - Flylady.net i think! It has changed my life!! I've always struggled with keeping tidy but this is really easy to follow and I'm usually tidy(ish) now.

    Good luck x

I agree with this. Best to follow as closely as possible don't rush in and expect it all done in a day. I still struggle when I lose focus but flylady has given me structure. Good luck and congrats on losing your job (I think!);)

I had a lovely day at work with only 7 children in my class and they were all brilliant - we had so much fun :D :T Might be a snow day tomorrow

    mozzy - I have a window cleaner :p

nicki - one of my TAs is doing his degree 'on the job' so he gets paid as normal. He has some days at Uni, I think 30 each year. I can find out more tomorrow (assuming we are at school!)

hex - you've done more than me :o

AnW and Miss A - Lovely photo and lovely dog!

I have decluttered a few chocs and taken any rubbish and dirty glass to the kitchen. Will go and update my list ready for tomorrow and then bed, I think.

  • Hi all!
I've been rubbish today, haven't even looked to see what was on todays list yet  ! We had heavy snow early this morning & I was all set for a snow day but by about 8 o clock it started turning sleety & slushy so had to go to work! This evening all I've managed to declutter is the spag bol from the fridge for dinner & some of Twinks hobnobs...does that count?! :p

I work on the basis that if I look at something and think 'I don't really want to read you anymore' it goes. I find with novels this generally happens after about 3 years (I've usually read them several times by then!).

I too re-read good books. I have to be ruthless though - if I didn't have regualr 'culls'I would be so cluttered. I do tell myself to read them once and once only but never buy new books at full price or I would never be able to let them go ... and libraries are a godsend...
I can remember my mum asking me, when I was about 10, if I re read books as if it were an unusual thing to do. I still have, though, some of my very favourite childhood books - I was a huge 'Just William' fan. With a different surname my DS might well have been called William...and boy would it have suited him...
forgot to post WM x 2, ironing and something else I have now forgotten also done! Oh and I dragged kids round Tesco Metro before we caught bus to buy milk and other essentials (Pinot Grigio and Whole Nut;)) before we caught the bus home...DS said it reminded him of when he was little and I didn't have a car and used to shop in town - with two littleys and schlep it all home on the bus on saturday mornings...
We had some laughs doing that...like the time he threw the shopping on the bus and there were EGGS in the bag. I didn't realise he remembered it all...

I have fallen out with Paul the Weatherman - shan't watch him any more ***stamps foot***

Laundry out of TD folded and put away in airing cupboard. DW emptied and everything put away. Need to clean the filters tomorrow... Bedtime tea made. Kettle on for hot water bottles.

I think I'll have another epsom salt bath, and then off to bed to try the CD again... as far as I can tell, it sends me to sleep, but I wake up later, both during it and after (possibly when it stops!). Still, I'll persevere for a bit longer!
