I try to make sure I spend 5 mins putting away in the playroom and the snug so it isn't grim, I s&s the kitchen and usually fill the DW, I put the clothes out for the morning, sort out pack lunches and wipe both loos so they never get really grim. Takes about 20 minutes but means I keep on top of things. DH accuses me of being a martyr sometimes but I hate coming down to a mess.

I don't really have one TBH. One day this week I did the kitchen before bed and had no idea what to do with myself when I got up the following morning:rolleyes:
I function better if I have something to get on with first thing you see. Then I normally start to deflate around lunchtime, which is why I don't get an awful lot of flying done on the days I work.
Well I am going to declutter myself to bed now. Headache has gone ish but it's left me tired. Plus I have no idea if I have to go to work tomorrow or notThe weather forecast suggests not but I'll still have to get up just in case.
Nite nite ladies. See you all tomorrow:wave:0 -
Evening peeps
Well we had snow again today both DS and DD at home, and at 7.20 I decided I would wait another hour before making a decision about going in. Spoke to my friend who lives in the same terrace and we decided to go in at 830 (she was driving). Its 15 miles and took us until 10am . As she normally works later than me I had to stay late as roads clear now so didnt get in until 1/4 to 6. Had to have tea on table so DS could go to Tae Kwon Do so threw Chicken Fajitas together with leftover chicken from Sunday. Now I'm knackered and once again am dipping out of the list - although I have loaded DW and put on and S/S kitchen so not quite a no fly day.
Currently pratting about with the new web cam that OH has 'found' and attached to the pc. Wish I could declutter that!Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Aren't you glad I made you do it?!
Washing in TD/hanging up to dry. DW not quite full. Supper in oven (I thought I'd put it in... but hadn'tso the oven was on but the food is still frozen!
I keep thinking that a glass of wine would be nice, and then remember that I've hardly drunk any alcohol since NY and am trying to lose weight (and not exactly doing well on the diet - or the exercise since it snowed!) so am having to deprive myself...0 -

OOOOOOOhhhhhhhhh! Books! I like books! We have three tall bookshelves, and 5 short bookshelves full of books, DVDs and Videos, but there are also overspills in our room and DS's room, plus a tall, narrow bookshelf on the landing! And I do sort out periodically and take to the Charity shop. Oh, and there are some in the attic belonging to DD, and some Wonder Books of various things that belonged to my Dad!
DS's bed changed today, ours was done on Tuesday but I forgot to say. I think I've lost the plot with listing what I'm going to do, then forget what I have done.I did empty and tidy the airing cupboard yesterday as well. DS made dinner while I was at the vet's having the puppy checked over, DH has cleared up in the kitchen and I'm now going to do some homework.
Hugs all round, goodnight and God bless.

Evening all
Flying wise the most I've managed is to cook, DH washed up and I put a load of washing on. Nightmare journeys today both ways, problem this morning (not weather related) meant loads of trains cancelled so I ended up not getting to work til 11am despite leaving home at 8.25am...long wait at the cold station! Then coming home my train was cancelledI walked to another station and got home slightly earlier than I would've done if I'd hung around in the cold.
The highways guys at the council office where my project is hosted were all desperately trying to get hold of grit today, we're forecast more snow overnight..i'd really like another snow day!! realised how much more tired I am after the travelling and have decided to actively keep my eyes open for a job nearer to home. Will only go for something I really want as my job is great in lots of ways but need to look i think.
night-time routine I straighten the cushions on the sofa, fold up the sofa blankets if we've used them, tidy the coffee table, take any cups into the kitchen, weigh out my porridge for the next morning, check my bag is ready for work, check the mealplan and get out anything that needs defrosting and if I'm leaving earlier than DH lay out my clothes on the bannister. Didn't think it was much and doesn't take long but it makes a big difference.
AnW, Miss A & Master W hope you had fun in the snow. My Gran loves Paul the weatherman! I hope the lovely pic got on
fly-flo - was wondering today if you were ok
TAG - I got some triptin tablets from the Dr when I had migraines more (hardly get them now), they really work, it's something to do with the physical thing i think so it's more than just a pain killer. I found that normal painkillers didn't work...occasionally codeine did but I can't take NSAIDs because I once had a suspected stomach bleed after taking it regularly when I hurt my wrist. Might try those books then, I need a change soon- my library doesn't charge at all for ordering books, you can even do it online...
mudbath - our bookcases (many many of them!) are all arranged by genre and then alphabetically...DH is a star at doing it! We have stopped keeping novels now unless they're ones we'd want to read again or haven't been read yet. We both grew up in houses full of books which I'm sure is what has made us both love them!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
So I have recently just lost my job
wondring why I am soo happy? The simple fact that I hated it and can't be blamed!
Anyway, I now have no excuse for the house to be in a mess.
Have Tried in the past, but always seem to be a mess the next day!
There is only 2 of us in a quite large masionette.
Any tips on how I can keep it spotless with minimal effort each day? I dont want to spend my days spring cleaning!
Also any ideas on money saving ways and old school cleaning techniques?
Thanks:j This year is my year 2009 :j0
