Be Broadband

I have been reading the broadband choices website and there is a new ISP to me - Be broadband. Has anyone any knowledge of this provider, and if so, are they worthwhile joining? They seem to be pretty price-competitive. I am just finishing a year's contract with Pipex, who are c--p! They only allow me 2 GB for a month's usage and Be offer unlimited. Any comments would be gratefully received.

O2 own BE, have a look at the various threads on MSE about O2 Broadband, if you have a O2 mobile, it may be cheaper than BE.

    Hi there,
Thanx for the response. I wasn't aware they were part O2 but I do own a PAYG O2 mobile and when I contacted them recently they told me I couldn't get their O2 internet as I wasn't in the right area?!? I will further this with them.

Probably means your exchange isn't unbundled so you can only get the BT service - in that case you won't be able to get Be there as they have the same LLU

Well worth a call to them to find out - I am sure their website tells you if they cover your area.

I would totally recommend them as they do not throttle and go through with you step by step on the phone on how to open a port for downloading torrents etc.

They are not the cheapest but you pay for what you get.

Also they have Eastern Europena operatives who speak perfect English and actually have Eastern European names.

Unlike our friends at AOL who are Indian but have names like Charles or Martin!

Thanks to you all for your comments on my original thread. I have checked the Be site, and guess what, like O2 I am not in their network area! Ah well seems like I'll end up staying with Pipex until something better comes along.

what other options are available at your exchange? we may be able to recommend someone better than pipex based on who is listed on your exchange
    £4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
    £400 O/D Lloyds TSB
    £2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
    £5070 Black Horse Finance

Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!

Dont know if im correct but just received the email showing 6 months free on value plan with 12 month contract and quidco offering £45 cashback. By my calculations that is £36 for 12 months or £3/month!
