I'm in the process of ordering... still waiting for my PAC code to be text to me by Orange. :(
  • Was going to pop into town today to look at the renoir, pixon and c905 side by side before ordering - but 6 inches of snow has put paid to that! Another couple of days won't hurt I guess but just taken some pics of my dog in the snow on my current c702 and they are rubbish!

I've ordered the Renior now... snow permitting it should be delivered tomorrow.

It is a nice looking phone and certainly better than the SE905 in my opinion which is fatter (and not touchscreen I think). I never looked at the Pixon as I was mainly considering the Renior against the HTC Touch HD.

If cost wasn't an issue I would have gone for the HTC though.

Problem with the Quidco part seems to be because the deal is only available by pasting in the link, I can't seem to find it by simply browsing the Buymobiles website. Has Quidco managed to track yet?

I have tried again this morning to get a deal to beat this..... I can't even find a deal to match it though.... and the HTC I may as well forget... I can't get that any cheaper than £30 per month over 18 months and that's without data.

So I am now very tempted by the deal... the cashback part is a pain although I have done this in the past with various companies and never had a problem.

I did paste link and quidco not tracked yet will let you know but dont think it will still great deal without it.

    I got my Renoir today.

First impressions are average. Mind you, I'm comparing it to an iphone (my OH's), so that's very harsh. Ask me tomorrow and I'll probably tell you that it's great. I've gone from a Sony Ericsson K800i so it's a huge switch.

The touchscreen isn't quite as sensitive as the iphone. It needs a fairly firm press. I'm still struggling to scroll up and down pages on it. I don't seem to be able to find any touchscreen sensitivity settings either.

However I find the texting very easy - flick the phone horizontal and it immediately gives you a qwerty keyboard. Having said that, the phone-button texting style is fine.

If you use any MAC filtering on your wifi (I do), don't expect to be able to find the MAC address on the phone. This is a flaw; I had to turn MAC filtering on my router off... connect the phone... and find the MAC address before adding it and turning the filtering back on. Big flaw.

There aren't many themes by default (black and white; don't get excited). There's not many available on the web yet either to download.

The contacts list takes a bit of getting used to - I phoned my OH three times whilst trying to delete a duplicate contact! Still that's probably me being an eejit ;).

I'm just putting music and other bits 'n pieces on now and I haven't touched the camera yet... more on that later!

Well in the case of this deal it means another £20 in the pocket, making the monthly line rental now equiv. to about £18
