The FSA register doesnt show that sort of info although there is a section for it. Getting a fine and action plans put in place is not the same as disciplinary in the sense it is recorded on the FSA register.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Please think more than twice before getting involved with this company. They assured me I would get an e mail reply within 24 hours when I e mailed them about my claim on the 27 Jan. Since then I have e mailed a further 4 times and phoned 3 times and am no further towards getting any response. Seems to me now they are sat on my money with absolutely no intention of replying anytime in the near future.0

Their company name is surely one of the best oxymorans arround....
An Oxymoron is a combination of contradictory or incongruous words, such as 'Cruel Kindness' or 'Jumbo Shrimp' (Jumbo means 'large' while Shrimp means 'small'). It is a literary figure of speech in which opposite or contradictory words, terms, phrases or ideas are combined to create a rhetorical effect by paradoxical means

Their recent advertising campaign reads, "For cheaper car insurance click click dont cluck cluck"
What a bunch of hens! In my recent experience they kept Cluck, Clucking me around and refused me a simple click click!
I initially used Swiftcover like a lot of people online as they were very cheap and there were some good cash back deals to be had from them in 2008.
Initially when I took the policy everything was pretty straighforward tbh and smooth. All the important documents are kept online and were easy to access and printout. However, I did find they are one of these 'tacit renewal' insurance companies, who will automatically renew your policy annually and before you like it or not you're insured with them once Again. A bit like a bad Anniversary experience.
I had actually informed them when I first emailed my Proof of NCD to them, that I did not want my policy renewed automatically. This year though, when it was up for renewal they had conveniently forgot my request and were all ready to charge me a new inflated premium. Fortunately I did check in time and cancelled the automatic renewal online.
The next escapade with them started when I tried to get my Proof of NCD for the next insurer, who is also a web based online company. Should be a straight forward task you'd have thought, one online company to another, a simple click click.
I phoned them to request it and was told I would be able to obtain it online once my policy had lapsed. When my policy did finally expire, low and behold the option to print out documents disappeared.
Rang them again and then once more again as they kept promising to post it to me but nothing was arriving. I then did some ping-pong emailing with them and still they assured me they would post out the Proof of NCD. What really puzzled me was why they insisted on snail mailing a document to me when they could easily email it to my new insurer who was also web based.
Finally, After threatening them with the FSA and reminding them of TCF Conduct & Principles, they emailed me back agreeing to email my new insurers directly. In the mean time I await with bated breath.
I suppose in the end that old caveat still applies, you get's what you pays for. Pay a higher premium and you get free-range organic hens, pay less and you may get a bunch of headless chickens at SwifCover.0 -
