  • I would really appreciate a review of my website by someone suitably qualified in U.K. Libel Law, just to make sure that I am abiding by the law, as despite my obvious anger and dismay at the situation, I still remain an honest and truthful person and would not want to risk breaking the law.
    Thank you.

After having my life virtually ruined by swiftcover, I have set up a website with reporting features in order to hopefully finally force the F.S.A. to do their job and regulate this shoddy company out of business.

You can visit it at http://www.organifume.co.uk

For anyone even considering getting a quote from them, please visit the website before you do. Thank you.
Hmartin, i am currently going through their complaints procedure and would welcome the name and address of their MD can you help?

    Thanks
  • Hi, I would remove the negative comments on the front page and simply refer to it as a comments book for all the feedback that you have received re: Swiftcover (although most of them appear to be negative).

I am not legally trained and this is not a legal opinion.

PS have you tried raising a small claims court claim against them?

    Hi Yorkshirewildcat,

I have searched all over the web but the M.D's details are a needle in a haystack. They obviously don't want his/her details to be in the public domain....

The M.D. of the claims departments details can be found on the following website

    http://www.simsclaims.com/team.html

Hope this helps and Good Luck.

I read your stroy and I must say from your account you have been hard done by. But why don't you do something about it (Ombudsman, litigation, etc)??
  • Hi Tozer,

Because of all the stress associated with the closure of the business following the debacle with Swiftcover, I missed the deadline for the Ombudsman so am now going to look at taking some legal advice.
    Thank you.

Swift are a limited company and as such you can find the name of the directors and in theory their home addresses (They normally conceal their home addresses) from companies house for a nominal fee as it is public information this is the link

http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/c0ae7662f9dd1bb84abf01f5d435e1f3/compdetails (Copy and paste this into your browser)

I have searched the FSA details on them and this is a list of the of the main indivuals, they are owned by Axa who are a French company (Hence the gaelic shrugs when you complain! lol) If you troll through you it shows directors names. If I were you I would ring the office office in Send (Surrey) and ask for the director and say you are ringing from Axa. I reckon the receptionist will put you through.

This is the FSA listing link

http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/firmIndivSearch.do?sid=143151 (Copy and past it into your browser)

I understood the FSA insist the policy booklet shows how to make an executive complaint and gives you the directors name and address to send it to. Their policy on line does not seem to do this.

I'm a broker and my opinion of Axa is not great so I can understand the problems you are having

    Good luck

You should. If it is as clear cut as you say (and I have no reason to doubt you) then it will be resolved very quickly once you issue proceedings.
  • Hi dacouch and Thank you for the information.
One particularly glaring and galling piece of information is in the Disciplinary History section of the F.S.A. for Swiftcover where it is supposed to publish disciplinary or penalising actions etc taken against the company by the F.S.A.

It is completely blank and states 'No Matches Found'.

If the F.S.A. are supposed to be regulating companies such as Swiftcover, how are they going to achieve this when they will not entertain complaints from Individuals?

A cursory search on the web for Swiftcover Reviews dating back to 2006 must be enough 'evidence' that something is going badly awry and yet seemingly no regulation or action from the F.S.A.!

It is quite rare for the FSA to discipline a company or indivdual hence why no disclipinary actions against them
