Keep the £60 to one side just in case. Better safe than sorry.

If you have spoken to the OR and these are the figures she has said then it has been agreed. You could ask about adding £60 ish for holidays. Christmas/birthdays tend to be not allowed more often than not. There is no harm in asking if you can add these but be prepared for a no.

If nothing was disagreed, it was agreed, IYSWIM.

All you have to do now is tell them your mortgage has gone down and your OH's income has gone up. You have 21 days to tell them of your change in circumstances.

None of us can say for sure what your particular OR will allow you to add, but it's an extremely generous SoA to start with.

I have told them that the mortgage payments have gone down, when we had the OR interview she said she was not assess figures yet because OH had only just gone back to work the soa was submitted with his income as he went back to work the week we went BR she said because his P60 for 2008 was only £2,000 they would re-assess this at later date so she's aware of what his income is, do you think I can increase the clothing from £68 to £155 I work in a professional office so suits etc

She has said that is what she is going to allow for clothing so that is your budget for clothes.

I doubt it, you don't need to buy new work suits every month.

  • do you have big kids (as your childcare is low, I pay circa £600 pcm for 1 4 yr old)
If they are big do you need internet access for their home work?
are you only allowed one mobile phone for a family of 4?

These are just ideas/suggestions I am yet to have my SOA approved.

All she said was figures looked ok and this would be assessed at a later date, when figures were calculated we were paying £825 mortgage so no surplus at all now this has gone down to £420 if we put the minimum so that there would be no shortfall surely they should allow this to be increased to what they allow if there is more income available to cover this,

Sorry if I have confused you OR said they allow £500 for a family of 4 I put £433, £68 for clothes but have read on the allowances that they allow £155 for a family of 4 so will they let me increase this now there is more money available due to mortgage payment being reduced
