Nope. Figures not out at all. In fact MORE than one in three of us will get cancer..

You're having doubts already, and with one in three of us heading towards the big C, how would you feel if it happened to you whilst you were living in the house? Is it worth the recriminations that you might feel if this happened?
If you had never made a link, perhaps that would be OK, but now you have things are a bit different.
And like other posters, I would never buy this house off you as my jury is still out. There must be other houses in this market.0 -
Thanks everyone for the comments. We have decided not to buy because when we went around to look at the area, we found the electric pylon is not 400 yards away. It was just stone throw away. EA's are unbelievable. They told us it was 400 yards away.
I have attached the image of pylon, the house and garden.

Ooh No way would I live near that! Even the appearance of it from a bedroom window would chill my blood! I have a phobia of pylons0

Thought it might be worth mentioning that although it's true that there is a statistical link between the low frequency elctro magnetic fields given off by power lines ( an approximate 70% increase in the incidence of childhood leukaemia if you're less than 100m from the wires - i.e from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 6,000), it's far,far more detrimental to your health to live near a busy road - large increases in respiratory illnesses, cancer etc.etc
90% of the population wouldn't even consider the health risks of living near a main road but everybody seems to run scared of the pylon bogeyman.
Might be worth taking into consideration if you're house hunting0 -
Who wants to look at that monstrosity? I can't believe you even considered the house in the first place with that thing in the back garden0

If a house is near a road or train station then EAs can advertise that it is in a convenient location for fast commuting into town or to work, likewise if it was near to shops or schools but in actual fact I wouldn't like it as I would see the disadvantanges of not been able to get the car out on the morning or noisy rough kids on the night outside shops etc.
Obviously living next to that ugly thing, is not an attractive selling point unless your one of those estate agents that will try and make it out to be a replica of Blackpool tower LOL. Notice that it seems to have "walked" 400 yards to about 4 metres closer to the house, maybe the EA should have gone to specsavers0 -
I'D CHECK THE ROOM SIZES OF THIS HOUSE VERY VERY CAREFULLY, IF AGENT THINKS THE PYLON IS 400 YDS AWAY, THEN THE ROOMS ARE PROBABLY 50 YDS SQUARE!!!!!
But on 2nd thoughts don't bother, pylon is far too close - walk away.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
It will give you something to tie the other end of your washing line to.0

That has to be one of the worst views anybody could buy.
Location, Location, Location and all that. I wouldn't buy one with that view.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0
