Stupid bloody router part 2

Do you mean this one
"I found a couple of bugs with the firmware that was shipped with the router, but a quick email to their support department and they sent me a beta version of 1.01.05 which sorted most of them out (but made one worse!).
(as of 18/01/2005)
I see on their website http://www-uk.linksys.com/ they have now released what is probably a stable version of the beta one I had, version 1.01.05, which can be downloaded and used to upgrade the router. Go to the link above and select Support from the menu at the top (dropdown), then click on Downloads.
From the "--Please Select A Product--" list, select:
"WAG354G V1.0 -- Wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway (Annex A)"
!!I think "Annex A" is for Europe ONLY!!
Click the downloads button and in the middle of the next page there's a link for Firmware. Click the link and download it to your PC.
Disconnect **ALL** wireless clients and connect the router up to your PC/laptop with a network cable.
Go to your routers IP address in explorer (usually http://192.168.1.1) and log in........."Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

the only number on my lappy is "model-330" same as it is labeled on the ECS siteWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Sorry I meant the router model number for the download from that site.
You now have to follow the instructions of the downloads. On the laptop updates - do them one at a time and reboot if asked - take it off the network cos you will have to turn off your firewall and antivirus and any other "monitoring" programs anti spyware etc - even do a safe boot ... and turn off all progs ..
For the router update using your pc with the wired connection. and follow the instruction on the site - Even try the router update first !! but turn laptop off and unplug the adsl line . then try the lappy again ...
Good luckRich people save then spend.

the router model number is WAG354G.

Okay lappy is 330 - You have all the updates . downloaded
Router is WAG354G - You have updated firmware downloaded
Quickly run the windows update from tools menu in IE - select the custom option then see if any optional Hardware updates are available on the left of the screen (optional won't come as auto critical ones) get them - these will auto load.
reboot lappy and check signal
if no good still - update firmware on router via the pc wired cable. test
if still no good then next apply the updates to your lappy. and test
Good luckRich people save then spend.

Are you saying that your wireless internet connection works fine if your laptop is right next to the router? yes The signal and internet connectivity are separate issues, i.e. if it's a poor signal then the internet can still work, albeit slowly, whereas if your network settings are incorrect even a strong signal won't help.

Are the DNS servers correct? How do I know that
