DC's journey to become debt free and saving for wedding

Evening everyone
I have joined the make £10 a day challenge. So in preparation for this starting tomorrow I have opened another bookie account for a free £25 bet. I need to open a lot more cause I have been slacking the past few days. I have joined the flylady thread to get me motivated to do the house work. This is where my spare time is being spent but at least I will have a clean house.
Not much has been happening of the debt front. I have been keeping up with my Payment a Day and the begone funds are creeping up slowly. I am off to look for some more free bets.

Just been reading your thread, you're doing really well
Can I ask, what bets are you doing?? How does that work??
Good on you with £10 a day challenge...i'm not as brave as you i've gone for £5 a day.
I have a few mini savings plans going but hoping one of those will turn into a wedding savings fund eventually
Think I will take a peak at the flylady thread....a couple of people have mentioned it on their threads and have been struggling to make the effort to do mine this evening

Evening everyone
I have been doing well at the MBing and I now have a profit of £53.10 and £75 tracked in quidco after two weeks. I have more bets placed for weekend football matches and I hope to have a profit off over £100 by the middle of next week.
I now have the balance on the black horse account down to £400 and I have done this by the Payment a Day challenge. The DIY fund is also coming along nicely. I hope to do more work to the house over the Easter holidays.

Well done DC!
You seem to be doing really well with the Payment a Day plan - I think I should consider this myself!
Keep up the good work.0 -

Hi MellyB
The Payment a Day thread is very addictive. It is this that is making me pay my debts of faster.

Afternoon everyone
Well I have paid off another £197 of the car loan. The black horse begone fund is only creeping along at the minute as money is very tight this month. I had to lend my dad £250 at the weekend as he is up to his overdraft limit. The rates also comes out again this month but it is only up £2 a month.
On a happier note I think I am getting a 10% pay rise at the end of the month. So this extra money will go into the wedding fund.

well done for getting a payrise, i have an pay increment due this month as well.
I've never had the courage with MBetting as there's a risk involved and i'm not good at risk, but i'm not doing too bad on the free scratch cards and that's fine for me0 -
Hi!
Well done on the payments :T You're doing really well and seem so organised and motivated - it makes me want to get sorted so thanks.
Thanks also for posting on my diary and PM - I haven't been posting on my diary as not a lot to say but having fun reading and posting on other. Maybe I should get back to posting on mine to keep myself motivated.
You must be pleased with the payrise, that's def going to help with those wedding costs

Evening everyone
Well today got off to a bad start I got news this morning that the laptop can't be fixed. So I have got 3 options either take it back to the shop and try to get a replacement because it is only 14mths old, claim of the insurance or sell it on ebay for spare parts. I really can do without the hassle or fighting with the shop and I don't want to claim of the insurance because I am then fixed in with the company I am with and they will probably load the insurance next year. So I think the only thing I can do it try to sell it and save some money to buy a new one.
On the debt side of things I have reached another £10 on the sratchcards and I have placed another free bet. So I should have some more money by the weekend.

Did you get any kind of extended warranty with the laptop?
Only reason I ask is that when our old PC went to the scrapheap in the sky it was only two weeks shy of being a year old and the standard warranty with PC World was only a year
You might find it worth a shot to take it back to the shop - I would do this anyway as it's so new (Comparatively) and you could argue it wasn't fit for purpose.
Good luck with it anyway!0
