Well maybe when forum team not in action BG' should be given access to other boards, dont really understand why they can only remove off own board anyway. But saying that then they will be getting pm's all evening about spammers, unless we could just have a spammers board where we all report person and all BG's keep their eyes on this board, but they will need the powers to remove off other boards too, just an idea

The way I had envisioned it was that said person could have their own "spam" log in and people could send PMs to that pointing out spam. that way you could have two or three people covering it all able to log into the special log in, which could then provide cover 24/7, plus it would save someone's PM box getting full up.0 -
Yes, brill idea, i think spamming is getting worse and getting nastier when these links can infect peoples computers, so anything that will stop it is good :Tbridiej wrote:The way I had envisioned it was that said person could have their own "spam" log in and people could send PMs to that pointing out spam. that way you could have two or three people covering it all able to log into the special log in, which could then provide cover 24/7, plus it would save someone's PM box getting full up.0 -
What about having a couple of spam guides. Sorta like board guides, but have access to the whole forum at night.I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here

That moron who did it last night needs reporting to a higher authority as what they did is falls under malicious misuse of a computer. Knowingly sending viruses is an offence and they did it delibrately as they spammed the forums, and not just a n00b not knowing what they did.
Sorry about spelling mistakes updated firefox today and spelling checker no longer works0 -
Yeah I agree ... I suggest Bill Gates.Poppycat wrote:That moron who did it last night needs reporting to a higher authority as what they did is falls under malicious misuse of a computer.

These would be "super moderators" they can moderate all forums - although the name would need to be changed to something else because otherwise abuse reports may go to them - "Spam Guide" is a good idea. They should appear where all the board guides are as well.bethom wrote:What about having a couple of spam guides. Sorta like board guides, but have access to the whole forum at night.0 -

We already have these, as in Forum Manager, Forum Team 1 and Forum Team 2.
ABUSE
Please report any abusive/illegal/offensive material to !!!!!!. This includes communications both on the public forum and in personal messages (pm’s).
Any abuse reports MUST go through the !!!!!! e-mail address. Reporting a post using the warning triangle in each one goes through this address as does clicking on the link in the orange bar at the top of the forum. Do NOT report abuse to Board Guides. This does not count as being reported.
DO NOT reply on a thread. ONLY report it to abuse and let the forum team deal with it.
Please bear in mind the forum operates on a report-an-abuse system. The forum team does not read all posts. Action can only be taken on posts reported using the above methods.0 -
Edinburghlass people are just bouncing ideas due to the bad spate of spammers about and especially last nights episode of the virus, dont think anyone wants peoples comps to get infected. Also whilst i am here just wanted to know if we know it is a spammer do we actually need to be reporting everypost or once i have reported the one, do i need to report all the others or can i just say once on each thread that the username is reported as over the last week i think i have reported about 50 posts but these are from only three people, you know what i mean
