Orange charging for text delivery reports

Does anyone know when Orange decided to charge 0.009 for every delivery report your receive?
I ask as i have only just noticed this when checking my itemised bill.
I requested a stop to paper based itemised billing about 4 months ago.
A friend mentioned orange are charging for delivery reports, and i thought "i'm not". But i obviously am being charged.
I have been on my contract 1 year in 2 weeks and to my knowledge never used to be charged for this.
I have turned off delivery reports now.
I worked out that if you send 500 texts a month (i send more sometimes more than this) this totals £4.50 a month excluding vat.
Are contract providers supposed to tell their customers of any changes in charges?
Look forward to hearing some advice?

They have been doing it for at least twleve months - i took a contract out with them in Jan 08 and the first bill was something like £50! My tariff should have been £35....
Orange are sneaky!Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos0 -
They've been changing since the animal packages came in 3 to 4 years ago. It is in the T&C's...0

if you were on an animal plan, you would have been charged for delivery reports.
there's a few threads already on here relating to these charges.
if you moved from a non-animal talkplan to a new animal talkplan, you'd notice you now pay for SMs delivery reports. the problem here is that when you change contract, if they listed all the changes to your contract, they'd be there forever - which is why you have the opportunity to review the terms!

I agree sigrid. Bit naughty. I am on dolphine 35 tariff. i have unlimited texts?! Lol and 500 mins, mine is supposed to cost just under £27 a month (i got some knocked off as they wouldnt let me leave the shop). I was also told when i took out my new contract orange care was included. And guess what i discovered i am not covered as they keep asking me to get myself covered! I wrote to them weeks ago about this and i have NOT had any form of response from orange.
Not a happy bunny. I have always been with orange. I will not be renewing my 18month contract in August!
Does anyone know of a complaints address?
And do all providers charge for delivery reports?!0 -
Orange are rip off merchants! Will never go back to them.
If anyone knows of a complaints address, it would also help me out.
Vodaphone dont charge for delivery reports on PAYG, not sure about contract. Not sure on any other providers.0 -

did you get your contract from Orange direct or via CPW or a third party retailer?

You can switch the delivery reports on/off from your phone in most cases, this happened to me, was well peeved off, but they did give me a credit.
Can't say orange are good/bad compared to other providers, but i did get 600 mins & unlimited texts for £10 p/m on an 18th month contract, crap nokia phone, but was more concerned with line rental, so can't really moan!No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
hey that aint bad shays_mum.
If anyone know who i should complain too and how to go about complaining i would really appreciate it.
Any letter templates and/or addresses would be wonderful.
Also i have switched off receiving delivery reports. Just wondering how much ive paid out in delivery report charges? EEK0 -
