Will a bank issue a 2nd credit/debit card in the same name?

in Credit cards
My girlfriend has started a new job and has to leave her bag/purse in a locker on the top floor of her building. Because of this it means that she has to spend 15 mins to get to her bag each lunch time and it makes her leave late evening going to retrieve her bag and she sometimes considers leaving it in the locker (Which I should point out is very secure).
But this means that she won't have her credit/debit cards with her at home once she has left work..
I just wonder if a bank will be willing to issue 'duplicate' cards in the same name, so that she could leave one in work and keep another at home?
Does anyone know if this possible or will a bank simply refuse this?

I have a very small wallet which I keep in my pocket at work. Contains a couple of coins and debit card... can she do this? I don't even take my credit cards to work. what's the point unless you are planning to do something afterwards?Kavanne

I used to work for a bank.
No! They wont - simply as a security precaution.0 -

Thats my thoughts too.. Thanks for that.. The other poster suggested a 'small wallet'.. Unfortunatly, in her work she is not allowed ANYTHING with her at all..
I think that the best workaround is to get another creditcard and/or current account and keep those cards in work.. And then carry her 'normal' cards around with her outside of work... Not ideal, but it will work.
Thanks for your help

I bet her managers have keys to those lockers so i wouldn't say they are all that secure...Kavanne

Well, she IS one of the managers and she doens't, so I don't think that its a problem.
But I accept what you are saying.. It could never be 100% secure.. But at the end of the day, if they did have keys, would they wait until Out of Hours when its unlikely that anyone would leave anything before breaking in.. Or would they do it during the day when the lockers were full.. If there is a security risk leaving cards in the locker, then its just as much of a problem during working hours!

...and fraudsters don't need to have physical access to the card as I've found out to my cost on two occasions. A Brazilian topped up their mobile phone several times and someone in the UK treated themselves to a trip to the cinema at my expense, all while my card was in a drawer at home.Kavanne wrote:I have a very small wallet which I keep in my pocket at work.
