  • natalie1974 - HUGE congrats to you all :D
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same
  • r mac - how overdue are you now? In my area they have a policy of inducing at 40 weeks plus 11 days. If I go that overdue my parents will be on holiday and then I will be left with no-one to look after DS2.

AF - don't work too hard - it's not good for you and baby. xxxx

i know, but feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.

really need to get so much done before i go off and that doesn't even touch the everyday stuff. just not enough hours in the day.

then need to sort things out at home. i know i haven't ordered the crib yet becuase the room isn't ready and i am ready for bed when hubby leaves for work at night.
  • Natalie - Well done to you and your little one, he sounds like such a fighter!

Knitted things - I think I gonna have loads, my Mum has been knitting since I told her at 5 weeks, I'm only 14 now so she has a few more weeks to add to the collection.

I am 41+3 wks today. They will let you go 2 wks over maximum here, but generally they like to induce at 10-11 days over. I've an induction booked in for sunday if nothing has happened by then. I'm lucky they are giving me some extra time to try and debump because:

    a. I have booked a home birth and
    b. I have been and I am in very good health

You can ask to be induced earlier, if that's something you would want/consider - esp if you have had babies before. I would suggest speaking to your MW about it if you are concerned. These things are all dependant on individual circumstances.

JVIC - Huge congrats I have been keeping an eye out for you to see if you'd updated your date. Although I can't believe you've only just had your first scan! Are you at the heath?

Thanks Tinkerbell. I tested +ive Dec 3rd but must have been a way gone by then and then had to wait a few weeks for midwife to come. NHS for you. I'm at Llandough. Haven't decided where to have the baby yet but OH likes Llandough compared to the Heath.

It turns out I'm only gonna have one scan now as I'm so far along. Next appointment isn't until June which is ages away. Scary how quick it's going. Glad everythings Ok after the bleeding I get occassionally.

How r u? Are you showing yet? I can't wait to start feeling it?

r-mac - can they induce you at home?

No - the first step is prostaglandin gel. They may give you this and then send you home to give it time to work (and so you don't take up a bed!), but once you go into labour you HAVE to go to the hospital to deliver. Should the gel not work then it's breaking your waters and/or an oxytocin drip.

I don't mind if that's what has to happen - afterall the most important thing is baby and my safety and health, but I am rather frightened of hospital envirnments so I know I'll be quite stressed :o I just have to remember to breath and not let Hubby out of my sight :D
