I know I haven't posted for a while on this thread but thought I would update you that I had my baby boy by emergency section on 21/1/09 @ 28 weeks pregnant due to placenta abruption and he weighed in at a massive 1lb 15ozs . I am pleased to say he was only on the ventilator for 2 1/2 days , he then moved onto CPAP for 6 days and he has been breathing on his own since 5pm Friday night and was moved out of Intensive Care and into High Dependency on Saturday afternoon and he is now weighing 2lb 1.5ozs

Here is a link to some photos if you're interested . http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p83/natalie1974_photos/Thomas/?albumview=slideshow

PS. the pics don't really do him any justice , he is beautiful really !
Congratulations, wishing you and your gorgeous boy all the best xxxxxxx

he is absolutely beautiful. My nephew was born at 26 weeks 18 months ago and I remember how a scary a time it was for all of us. Wishing you both all the best!!

My sister is due 16/04/09 and they expected her to deliver early again - however she has now got to 30 weeks and everything is going well.

Glad to hear he is such a strong boy. I'm sure it was a scary time, but you will have him home in no time at all. Love and best wishes to you all.

Same here, Bubs already has a pair of Rockport boots :o
I dont dress them in tracksuits though, that for OH and I is a big no no.
We do want to get a knitted cardi for coming home in but noone we know knits

Have you tried Asda. I got a lovely plain white knitted cardi from there, i'm not sure if they still have them though, I think I got it before Christmas. Might be worth a look though.

Congratulations! And please don't take this the wrong way, but I am gald to hear your story. I had a placenta abruption at 33 weeks with DS2 and so thsi pregnancy is very high risk (I also had pre ecclampsia and ecclampsia and all teh stuff that comes from the abruption). 28 weeks and still healthy is my aim so it gives me hope to hear of your little fighter!

He has done very very well to be moved on so fast and gaining weight very quickly! Wishing him and you and your family all the best!

natalie1974 - COngratulations. It's great to hear that it all ended well.

Lucifa - sorry to hear your bad news. Hopefully baby will show up soon to cheer you up.

I'm still here :D no plans for today - so really am going to do nothing and make the most of it :roftl:

I have about a million knitted cardigans, booties, hats, mittens and shawls. My mother has bene knitting for the past 5 months and doesn't seem to be able to stop. Just as well I like her patterns :D She's also made a gorgeous cot quilt (for decoration only) and wall hanging all in Beattrix Potter's Peter Rabbit, which is gorgeous. She's so clever :D
