  • So sorry, Lisa. Hope you are getting all the support you need xxx

Congrats, Jillie! 26 September is a fabulous date as that was Poppy's EDD! :D Unfortunately she was 11 days late though :rotfl:. Fritha was also due on 26 Sept last year but she had Celia one day early! :).

AF, I pondered for ages about Poppy's coming home outfit only to realise that she would also be in an all-in-one snow suit due to it being so cold and also be in a carseat so couldn't use the shawl!. With Jamie I just made sure he had the most gorgeous snow suit! :p (and of course a gorg outfit underneath ;)).

Can I recommend sleepsuits that come with turnovers for over the hands. We have quite a few, mainly from Mamas and Papas, and they are so much better than normal suits and scratch mittens. No matter how many times I cut Jamie's nails or put mittens on him he always manages to do a Houdini and get them off and mark his little face!

Hope everyone is well today :)

AF- re: going home outfit. I have packed a plain white baby grow and vest and then have packed one pink set of mittens/hat/cardigan and one blue set of mittens/hat/cardigan. I have also packed a snowsuit. If we are at home, then we will be going down a similar route - but have lots more choice re: size and colour ways now :D

    I wouldn't worry too much.

MFD It must be nice to know that you'll be so missed :D Just a few days left!

I;m a bit sleepy all of a sudden - the hypnotic effect of watching the snow fall outside I think. It's getting progressively worse  might have to have a snooze (just in case it's my last opportunity!)

Oh and anyone who has been wondering about spatone iron supplements - I know that MFD and I have both recommended them - they have 50% off online at mothercare http://www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B001PKKLH6/sr=1-25/qid=1233591961/ref=sr_1_25/279-4165011-5313563?ie=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44614031&mcb=core

Pinkpig - red is unisex. Def okay for a boy (unless it goes pink in the sun :o )

Busy day for me - there was a meeting this morning about how all my companies are going to cope when I go on maternity leave - there are currently 8 people taking over my job!! There will be blokes on motorways across the west midlands and north west slugging out their troubles because they have nobody to step in and talk sense :D

AF - you have me worried with all this talk about a going home outfit  I was just going to use the first little sleepsuit I bought and DSS bought Bubba a snowsuit for Christmas so assuming he fits in both then that's him done

I wouldn't spend ages worrying about an outfit when I don't know if it will fit him or not :o

wow 8 people taking over job. briliant, shows how hard you work :T :T

don't worry about the going home outfit. it is just my usual 'wants' making it more difficult that it really needs to be. i have seen some lovely outfits if i didn't have my dos and donts would be perfect.

    Great minds!! :rotfl:

My bigger than average boy fitted perfectly into newborn size although it really does depend on the brand. We moved on to 0-3 around 3w and only last week moved to size 2 Huggies! :D

Nah - it's just easier being a woman in a mans world sometimes! They have sectioned my job into lots of little 'tasks' and have given them to various people so not 8 full time people IYSWIM!

Apparently there is 5 or 6 inches of snow at home so I am going to make a move and battle my way down the M6.

    Seeya later all.

SB - the newborn stuff makes me worry too much, it is so small - I must be the only mum-to-be in the world that wants one that fits in bigger clothes straight away!

  • r.mac, will your MW bring you your Bounty packs?! :D

For some reason that would play on my mind! :o :rotfl:

  • Glamazon -There is also http://www.greenmetropolis.com/ for selling books.... Site very easy to use no faffing with pics etc. It isn't as busy as ebay etc but I had more luck with them than Amazon.

    (hugs) lisa.

Gtg fell asleep when I finally got back from school this am only to wake up 20mins before I had to leave again :o Loads of snow at kids school - about 4-5" the snow that was here this morning has melted (although we weren't supposed to get any!) Going to calm down now that I can stop rushing and find some food

    well this is my buggy

and this is what it will look like with a red carry cot No idea if I am having a girl or a boy, but thats what I am getting. DS2 had a red buggy and so did DS1. I'm not a fan of pink on girls anyway so won't worry about pink clashing with red.

Had my MW appointment today, got bloods taken, lots of paperwork and books a plenty! My wee arm is owchy! Also told everyone at college and given that only myself and one other woman is above 25 and has kids, all day and probably untill the end of term I will have to listen to stupid little lasses trying to be funny about pregnancy  Does not help that we are now doing higher human biology which has (OMG) pictures of babies in wombs and names structures in there... constant 'oh look, its your wee baby!' will drive me insane! As will an exam at 26 weeks!!!

i had bought everything 0-3 months becuase i was so scared of the newborn size, although i forced myself at asda to buy six of their sleepsuits in 'newborn'.

MFD - go careful on the drive home please. i did think of you whilst waiting for the bus for 40 mins watchign people only scrap the snow off their windscreens and nowhere else
