I work for the nhs and get 15% discount in dorothy perkins and burtons when you show your id badge- may be interesting for people to know as its not advertised anywhere! also 20% discount on hospital food in restaurant....in my opinion the should pay you to eat it, lol. there is an nhs discounts scheme for discounted holidays etc but ive never used it. the best thing is the free parking- my permit has been used by just about everyone in my family (not officially allowed but very easy), parking is nearly £4 a day without it so saves a fortune when someones having a baby. the best thing was getting my own room when i had dd, a perk for hospital staff!0

I work for the civil service and we get an annual booklet showing what discounts we can get in various shops. Only draw back is that you have to order vounchers by phone and they are sent out that way.
eg if you get £50 of John Lewis vouvhers you will only be charged £45
Wish working for the CPS meant a discount on a sentence if i got in trouble :rolleyes:Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts

I work for the Civil Service too ... but I've never got this! Do you just get it sent to you or do you belong to a union? Sorry to ask but I don't want to miss out if possible! I work for Dept for Transport so perhaps it's different for us.
I used to work for John Lewis as did my DH. Both used to get 25% off John Lewis and £12.5% (I think) from Waitrose. Never appreciated it when we had it. Plus a percentage of our salary as a bonus (25% the first year I was there .. but then again, my salary was only £6500 but even so!)0 -
From places myself and friends have worked: bodyshop 50%, wh smith 12.5%, m&s 20%If it hurts no-one, let it be :beer:0

i get 30% staff discount at Millets, which also works at other shops in the same company, so discount at Blacks, Freespirit, etc...this is off both sale and non-sale items.
Also, is used together with student discount (10%) I can get 38% off non-sale items.
this increases to up to 50% off items that are worn for work, so I bought a few pairs shoes etc, only wore them once to work, but got them half-price
other perks to the job...a near-luminous green fleece?! :eek:0 -
Next offer cashiers a 50% discount off all full-priced items and non-sales staff a 25% discount.
Luckily, I've got a friend who works in Next and loves going shopping with me!
Erm are you sure? When I worked there it was 25% off everything and no discount on sale items - all you get is to check the sale items beforehand to see what you want. Got 75% off uniform though.0 -

I think you have to be in the union. The reason i think thatis because the booklet comes through with the monthly/quarterly magazine (shows how much i pay attention :rotfl:
