I just wanted to mention that Lakeland have 24cm enamel pie plates for sale at £2.99 each but they are on a 3for2 offer

Got mine today :D I know there's cheaper in the £shop but I think with some things - especially cookware - you get what you pay for!

I put mine on 180Cish, and bake until it looks done, I usually poke it in the middle and can see the insides bubbling! ;) It takes around 40 mins I think, and I put them on the bottom shelf of the oven to avoid the crust burning before the insides are cooked.

Sorry if its already been discussed, havent got time to read the whole thread! If you are making pies to go in the freezer is it best to cook them first, or freeze them with the pastry uncooked? I am thinking chicken and veg, meat and potato, fruit etc so the filling would be pre-cooked anyway.

    Thanks!

I would freeze them uncooked because else you'll cook the fillings let it cool, reheat, freeze then reheat again.
I usually work on the theory that freezing & making sure everything is really hot when heating will kill any bugs but if you don't eat the whole pie after defrosting to reheat it again could get dodgy.
I always line my tin with greaseproof paper & then when frozen take the pie out & wrap well, keeps your tins free.
