    Morning all. :hello:

Another long lie for me this morning - wonder if my body is resting for any particular reason...

Need to go into soon ti be ex work today for another consultation meeting. Will just be to confirm the redundancy I imagine and confirm the financials and if there is a notice period. If there's no notice period I will be better off by six weeks full pay and 10 days accrued holiday so fingeres crossed...

:j :j :j just had a phone call from some electrical contractor. We are getting new central heating in our house...! There are only 12 Housing Association houses in our village so they are running a small pilot scheme with us to install brand new solar powered central heating system as a green initiative... we currently have costly storage heating and it's expensive and a PITA to run...

    i'm so excited!!! :j :j :j

That's great Maz, I agree about storage heaters they are PITA, if you haven't had them on & the weather suddenly turns cold you're stuffed, literally stuffed into layers & layers of clothes just to keep warm :rotfl:

Morning Everyone by the way

Great news about the pilot scheme Maz. I would think that if they were to damage anything they would be required to repair/replace it...

Toto - Lily is gorgeous. I want mine to come out now so I can play with it:p

Hmm - downstairs neighbours must be out today - our flat is colder than usual and we don't usually have to turn the heating on in the day because they have there's on full blast. We've been known to open windows in the last couple of months just to cool down!

  • My daughter has been to the midwife today. She has 6 weeks to go and the baby is still breech. If it hasn't turned in another 2 weeks they will book her in for a Caesar!

Get her sitting on a gym ball, make sure she sits on a chair that doesn't let her slouch and tell her to try polar bear position (basically crouch on floor on elbows and knees) And the c-section appointment will be precautionary to make sure the theatre has a free slot. It isn't a once its booked you have to have it job so don't fret about it!

I was a breech baby - back in the 70's before they knew better I suppose - my mum had to go and have "manipulation" every other day - they'd prod and poke and get me to turn.....on the walk home, I'd turn back.:D

C-sections have improved so much lately, I had an emergancy one with DD1, 13 years ago now and had to stay in for 8 days....I don't think you have to stay anywhere near that length now.

Can I ask for your help please ladies and gents.

Once Bean arrives we are going to spell his or her name out in padded letters on the wall. I was hoping to be able to find wooden or polystyrene letter shapes that I could then cover with wadding and fabric but have had no luck. Any ideas where I can get some anyone?

    Thanks

In many ways C sections are better and safer for baby if distressed, no bleeding afterwards in my case (never needed my nappy pads!) no delivering plancenta, no cutting or stretching of your bits and pieces, no squished heads on babies....

but recovery for mum can be longer of course... depends on your own pain thresholds i guess....

I would certainly have another cesarian if i was ever to have another... which is never BTW....!

Edit - too posh to push me!?

What about using wire to make letters, like old wire hangers or something?

I have a horror of c-sections because of the trouble it has caused my Mum over the years after they botched hers but I guess things have moved on.

Can you believe my biggest worry about a c-section (other than Mum's history) is that I won't be able to train for the 10k in May...

Oh and Maz, Jinky - RFL is now open for entries...
