I've got round this problem by having my eyelashes dyed regularly. It doesn't seem cheap to begin with, but I was fed up with wasting money on mascara that dried up/went clumpy. It looks great for about 6 weeks, and I have it done at the end of my leg waxing appointment as a bit of relaxation

For emergencies (i.e. when I forget to book an appointement!), I have a Dr. Hauschka mascara which I'm very happy with.
I don't think eyelash dyeing is a patch on mascara, its OK for holidays to have for daytime, but thats about its limit. It doesn't make lashes longer &/or thicker.0 -
Can anyone recommend false eyelashes? I keep looking at them in Boots or Superdrug, but there seem to be so many different types. Are the single ones better than the actual whole eyelash (if you know what I mean), and when you put them on, can you feel them all the tiime? I'm sure your eyelashes get thinner and there are less of them as you get older!:rolleyes:0

I've used bourjois mascaras initially - when i used to 'buy' them! and luckily never had much problem with them, but for past 3 years (as i always get a clinique bonus time) i have been trying the High Definition, the glossy one, the High impact and double wear ones - all small sizes but they all have lasted me over 3 months on average using it everyday. and they have never had a chance to go so clumpy as it runs out by then - so a smaller sample size is better i suppose (occassionally it maybe a little gloopy but i can still scrap it off across the rim of the tube to put back inside).
it could be the cold weather and maybe storing it near a cold source -say near the window. you could leave it closer to a warmer area say nearer a radiatior - though not too close it may dry up.0 -
another vote for the Max Factor falsh lash effect mascara. I've tried Dior, lancome, clinique, benefit and other higher end brands and dont think any of them match this for price and quality. I dont normally like Max Factor make up (I've tried enough of it on promotion though!) but make an exception for their very good mascaras.The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0

Just having this issue with my avon mascara. Was out for a meal today. Don't wear makeup very often and pulled it out. Tis my fav. And was all gloopy. So gave up and went without. Gonna try the hot water and then the cold water if that fails! Thanks guys!!0

Another fan of Max Factor Calorie 2000 here.....but.......I bid & won on 2.8ml sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear last year on Ebay that I was well impressed with (even better than Calorie 2000)
I just kept buying more from Ebay when I needed it but treated myself after Xmas to a full sized one from Boots (£17) because I took a present back & got a refund so only needed to put a tenner to it.
I haven't opened it yet but am wondering whether, because it's a full sized one, it will go 'off' like the other expensive ones seem to be doing??
Anyone got any experience of Estee Lauder Double Wear full size please?0 -
Personally I'm not a big fan of the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara, kind of gives me the same effect as the ordinary 2000 calorie. At the moment I'm using Maybelline Volume Express Lift Up and I have to say I'm quite impressed!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

Hi
I am still quite pleased with mine although the brush is hard!
Recieved a letter from Estee Lauder at the weekend saying Boots had passed on their complaint and they will send me a replacement product
Boots have already refunded me 20 quid in advantage points so I have to say I am quite impressed with them (for a change!) and my faith in EL mascaras may be restored if their replacement turns out to be any good.
