Hi guys :hello:
Very long time no post! Have been so busy revising for my professional accountancy exams - of which I sat two today  I am absolutely shattered. Feel like I'm going to fall asleep whilst typing this!
Have the day off work tomorrowGoing to have a major COD MW2 session. For those of you who know what I'm talking we appreciate where I'm coming from :rotfl:
Anyway, enough with the ramblings: Update below in the normal fashion.

Nov 08: £22.26
Oct 08: £22.29
So what does that mean this month:- have now taken over 100 months off of the mortgage
- have exceeded my initial target for the MFiT-T2 change of £130k quite considerably - I'm a bit suprised by how much we have beaten it
- Daily interest now below £20
This means it is time for a new target
Will need to give this some thought!
My only concern - quite a major one actually - is in relation to the results for the exams I sat today. These come out on 22nd January  The company I work for has a clause in my contract that whereby if I fail either of these exams, my employment is terminated :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
We do have a few thousand saved up in the bank and my OH also works so we would have her income stream still if the worst did happen.
Do you think I should have fire on Januray's overpayment until I find out my results?
Would appreciate your kind thoughts on this one????
Thanks

Welcome back D1!!
Bet you're glad the exams are over, and good luck for results day even though you have to wait 6 weeks or so;)
Excellent news on the overpayments front....whilst I'm no pessimist and I'm sure you're not either I would probably hold fire and not overpay. When you do pass you can make a bumper overpayment, have a few  and look forward to a nice pay rise I hope:D
Have a nice few days holiday...and no looking up the books to see how you answered the questions:p

I have my fingers crossed for you too. I hope it works out fine.
I would probably wait if I was in your position.
As for MFiT-T2, I had to do the same with my target (originally £36K reduction), because I exceeded my starting target by quite a bit too.
My new figure is now this year's reduction x3 + an extra 10% = £50K reduction.
Enjoy COD MW2.0 -

As per a previous post I toyed with the idea of not overpaying because of results coming out on 22nd of the month (employment terminated if I fail either of the two exams sat). Went for it for the following reasons:- Have £3,000 sitting in an ISA
- Other half would still be working
- Have just over £1,000 to be paid over to credit card that is on 0%. Will leave this in current account until after 22nd
Not too shabby me thinks
Need to do a summary for 2009 and come up with some targets for 2010.

Hi
Far too many posts to read them all so I read the first two and the last two (;)).
Firstly, congratulations on passing the exams.
Secondly, from the first posts you seem to be worried about the total amount of interest that you will pay. I think you need to consider net present value (NPV). Scrimping now may mean less holidays, less fun, less living. Life is about balance - who knows what is around the corner for any of us?
Don't forget to enjoy life.
But keep up the good work - if you are sure that you arekeeping the overpayment/life balance to your satisfaction.
