  • I think it's disgusting that, although this woman is wrong to do what she has, that the OP has flipped out all control freak on her for saving up in the entire life she lead before meeting him, for the provision of her daughter's education & now he wants a cut for his kids in exchange for his silence.

Seems to me he was just angry there was money he's not managed to get his grubby little hands on to pay for the lifestyle he has thus far been unable to provide for his own kids.

Talk about hypocritical, like he said lots of men hide their earnings & savings. He just wanted a piece of the pie without all the going without & saving that his wife had done for her own child.

But I'd like to stress I don't agree with her hiding it & claiming, just that it was her right to keep it from him as it was for her own child from a life before current controlling bully!

I have to repeat what rosered1963 said. Hiding £ is one thing, hiding it 'abroad' is quite another. It begs the question - what else is she hiding.
She obviously knew what she was doing when she put it in the Jersey bank account. The OP says she received the money before they met, I'm wondering if she was a single parent at the time and claiming benefits so put the money in the Jersey account so she could continue claiming those benefits. If so she may well have been commiting fraud for quite a long time.
