Just wondering how long it usually takes for tesco to send out rewards? Is it generally quicker if they are ordered online or by telephone?
Im just worried what would happen if they didnt come before we go on holiday (planning on using them for entry to attractions while away) then I would be left with rewards I didnt want instead of keeping them with all the other vouchers im saving!
Thanks0 -
Thank you for responding.
The vouchers are posted to her and she always exchanges them in Tescos to pay for animal food for the RSPCA. She has always done this and its the first time its happened. She doesn't have a computer and lives alone, she is the only one who would have used the vouchers.
I would do what POPPYOSCAR has said, ask your friend to contact Customer Services again, and ask them to check again what has happened to the vouchers. If they say they have been transferred, ask them like POPPYOSCAR said, to check when and to what they were transferred, and by who.
If it is for anything other than pet food like your friend normally does, you know something wrong has occurred. And you can ask them to investigate or replace her vouchers as she could not possibly have done it. If she also exchanges for pet food, they should have a record of this.0 -
I'm new on here so forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place.
A friend of mine tried to exchange her Tescos vouchers in store, the cashier told her that the vouchers had already been transferred. She didn't do it so who could have? She phoned their head office and was told the same thing. Has this happened to anyone else, she has lost £20 worth of vouchers.
Like others I'm confused by the term 'transferred'.
I assume, you mean that the store believe that the vouchers have already been converted into the 'double-up' vouchers!??
I have heard of this happening, whether they have accidentally got scanned before they were ready to proceed, or some other technical problem. Anyway, what to do next?
1) Ring clubcard - they can tell when the vouchers were redeemed (or at least when the 'system' believes), to what - but it won't say what category, store no. and when i.e. time & date.
2) Armed with this information, go to that store, and request either the Exchange vouchers, or a money card for that value. Given the fact that she still has the vouchers - but Clubcard say the are redeemed, against In-Store Exchange on the date there were refused!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Thanks for all the good advice on here. I will pass on your comments to my friend and hope she follows it up.0

I have only jsut started collecting clubcard points in July, I just assumed I just got vouchers sent through. But today I decided to look on the website and was amazed at how much you can do with them, ie holiday tokens. Im not sure I really understand what i'm supposed to do though lol, can I save all my points up and exchange them in one go, or do I have to do them before I get vouchers sent out?? Also, when I do book a holiday, do I have to pay in full if im using tesco points, or can I pay in installments like usual but using the holiday tokens as i get them? Im sorry if someone already asked, but there was over 30 pages to read through.0

Krazeybird,
you collect your points when you do your shopping in Tesco (and for other things too, but I'll not confuse you right now). Once you have collected 250 points in a quarter of a year Tesco will send you out Clubcard vouchers with 1 point=1p value.
Each of these vouchers has an expiry date on them which is usually 2 years after issuing. You can spend them in store at face value for money off your shopping or use them for any of the deals you've already looked at. Most people save them up and use them for summer days out/ to pay for the Christmas dinner in store/ pay for summer holiday etc etc.
You don't have to use them right now, just before their expiry date, but look after them and keep them somewhere safe because you can't get them replaced. I think that's it, you've already found the clubcard bit on Tesco.com and that is pretty straightforward to go through. If there's something I've not covered, just ask.

Hi krazeybird if you use credit cards you can also apply for the tesco credit card which will also accrue you tesco clubcard points on any spend anywhere not only tesco which will build your points quicker the new cards only give 1 point in every £4 spend obviously if you don't clear your cards each month this will wipe out any advantage of points so depends on how disciplined you are with credit cards. We have paid for many holidays in full in the past on clubcard deals. We never spend them in store as you can do so much more with rewards deals although we did make an acception for the current doulbling up which we normally ignore but our son wanted a samsung genio touch for his birthday which had £20 of if you spent £40 in store then used £20 doubled up to £40 which left us £9.97 to pay for phone original price £69.97 which is also on the tesco mobile network that gives free monthly credit and triple points on top ups(atleast until Jan11 although they have been constantly extending this as we have had this network since last Aug). You can also look out for bonus points on some instore items or online which can build up them points alot faster i.e. think in Jan they were doing 1000 pts on mobile phones you just need to keep your eyes peeled. Hope I haven't confused you. As previous post said keep them safe as people have been know to throw them out before without realising. Although the reward vouchers expire after 2 years the reward deals voucher you apply for with the reward vouchers has another 6 months life normally.0

What adore said lol!
The Tesco credit card is one of the other ways to collect points I mentioned in my last post. You can change your elec/gas to Eon and collect Tesco points with them; also Tesco do home phone and internet which also give you points. Have a look at this page which should give you an idea if you can collect from elsewhere without spending more, just changing provider etc (but remember it's probably better to be with a cheaper supplier than just to collect points iykwim).
