Thanks for the replies. We currently shop at Asda, and the vouchers I get are from occasional purchases of petrol or Tesco Direct purchases.
So I just keep them in a safe place then buy the reward I want. I have probably thrown away vouchers that have expired!

It might be worth giving clubcard a call - you may have unused vouchers where the 'valid until' date was either May or Aug '10 these could be converted back to points for you.
But anything earlier witll be dead!

I've heard that Clubcard and Airmiles are about to make some changes to the amount of miles awarded, I e-mailed them to ask if it was true and was told there was a letter going out on Monday to users to explain :(

And what have you heard? Surely it cannot get any worse then it already is?
To get a ticket for Zone 2 from Manchester you already need £84 of Tesco vouchers..

O.K., it's with proper Airline and not BMI baby or Ryanair (ie you get suitcase and a meal), but if you buy in advance you can still get a flight for about £140 in cash... so that is not even a 2x the value!!

What I have heard is that those earning 80 miles/£2.50 will change to 60 miles/£2.50 and those earning 60 miles/£2.50 will get 50 miles/£2.50, wanting this confirmed before I got all annoyed I e-mailed them and this is their reply
    Thank you for your email.

Our customers will be receiving letters from Monday next week explaining the forthcoming changes to the Airmiles collection scheme.

This letter should answer all queries that you have in regards to this matter, unfortunately, I am not currently able to provide you with any more information.

    Kind regards,

    Clubcard Rewards

So I'm still none the wiser as to what exactly is happening but do know sometihng is "happening" :(.

Surely this would make the Airmiles scheme one of the worse rewards scheme in the country??

It's not that great as it is, but still some flights are achievable...

If they change it and make it worse even futher it will not be worth it for anyone else then London based people and even for them it will be barely worth it..

It will be better starting collecting Nectar points to use on Expedia..
I'll do some calculations to see how long would it take to collect for "normal price" flight into Zone 2 country - given that Expedia also shows flights from cheap airlines.

But I suppose that once Tesco stops giving you double clubcard points it will immediately make the calculations sway in favour of Nectar points (for travel at least..). Don't know-have to check.

Edit - if you want to pay for both flights in full just with points, Tesco (calculation based on 5 points for £4 spend at Tesco with Tesco credit card) comes up slightly better then using Nectar points with Expedia (based on Sainsburys shopping again paid for with Nectar credit card and normal priced flights Expedia).

I have based my calculation on flights Manchester - Prague at a weekend (Wednesday flights are much cheaper and you would need much less Nectar points to cover the costs - but Airmiles have the same price - ie amount of miles needed no matter what day of a week you fly).

So it will all come down to choice:

With Nectar you will be able to pay for just part of a flight or hotel with Nectar points and based on normal market prices

    versus

Airmiles where you can fly with better airline, but have to get enough points to cover the full or nearly full flight (the pay x in miles and x in cash just works out really rubbish value though).

I won't be happy if that happens. I paid 6 months DVD club membership in advance to get an extra 750 points towards my air miles total, which Tesco forgot to give me:

    Dear xx xxxxxxx

You recently used a voucher from your February clubcard statement to pre-pay your Tesco DVD rental account in return for an extra 750 clubcard points.

Due to an unforeseen technical error these extra points have not been added to your May clubcard statement. The points will therefore now be shown in your next clubcard statement in August.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this error.

    xxxx

And now they want to give them me at a lower rate?

When are the next vouchers due anyway?

Hi, i checked my clubcard points balance online just now and it's saying i only have 216 points when i had 950 before i went shopping on friday (and spent 50 pounds).
Does this mean they are sending me a 10 pound voucher? i was saving my pts to convert to a hotel stay or similar

The cut off point for collecting was 24th July, so I doubt it. The points you collected on Friday won't be in this voucher. More like £9 or £9.50...
