    Hi there :)

I have a Tesco Clubcard and my fiance has just found one that he used to use long ago. I called Tesco and they said that they couldn't put all his old points onto my card and close his account without us BOTH being on the phone. Can I do this online instead of faffing around with a conference call?

    Cheers in advance!

I would have thought you'd just have to pass the phone to him to verify his details and confirm what you've said, i doubt there's a way to do this online.

Hmm...yeah I thought probably not but it was worth a try! My fiance and I have rarely been in the same room lately though to try it.

    Hello there,
I'm new to this points thing, never used them before at all. Just seen the info on the 1000 extra points and am a little tempted.
But what will 1000 points buy you? Am feeling a bit thick about this but I cannot find any list telling me what I can actually get with the points.
Many apologies if this has been covered, I did try to search, honest! Thanks

Forgive me for being pedantic, but you can't spend your points only the vouchers that clubcard send out to you. Are you saying that you haven't spent any of those!? The next vouchers are due in August, but these 1000 pt GHS promotion won't be included until the Nov ones!
For more info on 'deals' go to tesco.com - clubcard logo bottom left, 'how to spend' - partner rewards click on 'find out more' and hey presto the different options are revealed, order what you want, and pay by quoting the voucher codes.

Unlikely, there would 'cancel' the old card, more likely they would arrange a joint account - whereby pts from both cards are pooled together into one 'account' - vouchers addressed to the both of you, with original cards still being valid.
But either way, they would need to speak to both of you for Data Protection purposes (to know both are in agreement), i.e. speak to cust 'A' take clubcard details, verify, speak next to cust 'B' verify - confirm 'B' in agreement with 'A's' idea of joint account - yes proceed ....
To the last question - 'No', not deemed sercure enough for Data Protection purposes. Indeed there's very little you can do on-line to your clubcard details.

Have you read the question? The OP is only just starting out on collecting points, so he hasn't got the 1000 points or any paper vouchers.

1000 points are worth £10 to use instore at Tesco.

But the best way to use them is by going to the Clubcard site and converting them to Deals vouchers and they're worth £40 then.

    http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/

Very good advice and link from BeenieCat.

Firstly is good to point out that you collect the points on your clubcard and every quarter they are converted and you get mailing with paper vouchers (though recently there was few mailings in between). I call it "Tesco money vouchers". It is piece of paper with "£3" on it or what ever you collected (every 100 points give you £1).

You can either just spend them in store (at face value, ie those "£3" I gave as example is worth £3) or convert them into deals which can be worth up to 4x the value - look at the link from BeenieCat to see what you can get.

Yes, thanks, I did read - seemed a bit ambigous to me e.g. 'never used them before' so for all I know he may have been one of those who throw away his vouchers - 'junk mail' and wait till his points build up to use - they are about.

Was that a reason for starting "forgive me for being pedantic.." while the OP clearly stated he has no idea?

    Hi thanks for the replies.

I have a couple of accounts each with 1000 points on, what's the best way to merge these onto the same card without risking CS removing them!? I'm really worried about this happening if i ring and potentially alert them to the fact i have 4 or 5 accounts!! :o

I had the same situation and used to get a couple of separate statements a month with different rewards on. Wasn't a big problem but i rang up and they updated it there and then, asked them to confirm the points wouldn't be lost and they confirmed that was the case. Then rang the next day and it was all updated on the system
